yes, but not many. I would use the iPhone most often because of the better camera. However, I can see a setup where the iPad was setup on a stand or something at an event and used to document something simple like customer badges.

Apart from the few test pictures I took when I got my iPad, I haven't taken any pictures with it. That's what my phone and DSLR are for. However my iPad cameras do get used extensively for video calls (Skype/Facetime) whenever I'm not near my computer.

I forgot I also use the iPad 2 camera for scanning in prescriptions with the Walgreens app. I use my Thunderbolt too, but again, if the iPad 2 is handy, I use it. I also use it to scan codes for house listings. I'm looking for a new house and a lot of real estate agencies have begun using codes that you scan and it automatically loads the house with pics on your device via safari. Using a phone to view real estate pics is just not practical. At the end of the day I am very thankful the iPad 2 has a camera.

I love how everyone wanted cameras.
and they don't use them.

I wanted a retina display and more than 256MB ram. Apple did the bare minimum by going to 512MB, but the display in my iPad 2 has massive back light bleeding. It's worse than the iPad 1 display.

I also would be far more likely to use the camera if it didn't suck so horribly.

I use it a bit, more with video than stills though. It's handy now and then if say you're taking notes on something, and want to record it with a photo or video. It's clunky as a camera because of the size, but perfect for taking notes and stuff because of the size - so for things like this, it's a bit better than grabbing my phone.

Also (mild spam, sorry :D) the app 'Camera Boost' (which I wrote) does live image enhancement for the camera, including noise reduction and lighting adjustment. That improves the camera quite a bit, and it works with both video and stills. (If anyone wants to try that out to confirm it either way, it would be good as I'm obviously slightly biased! Just PM me and I'll provide a free download code.)

No as the picture quality isn't good enough

exactly.

When i view the video through the iPad screen, its disgraceful to be honest.

it's so grainy.

Why do they advertise it like this

It's bordering on lies!

Pretty much just for Photo Booth. My iPhone 4 is used for everything else, as the quality is dramatically better.

It DOES look that good! Just stand really far away from the iPad! :D

Never used it for photos - for Skype it's great (incl. the back cam for showing something).

The iPhone is much handier for taking pics :)

Sometimes. But the quality sucks tbh.

I cant wait for iCloud to automatically send everything I take with the 4s onto my ipad.

Couple of times

Once to try and catch a photo of some lightning using timelapse software (just to see if I could really) and a few times with friends kids in photobooth for a laugh.
