I always turn it off at night where I don’t plan to use or charge it. Not sure if you notice the Watch drains the battery even if you’re not wearing. If you leave it on overnight without charging you’re wasting 20% battery overnight.

Nope. I keep it always on, since I am always wearing it unless charging it overnight or showering. Seems pointless, like taking the battery out of a traditional watch when not wearing it would be.

What? I’ve never seen that amount of discharge! Granted, I’m usually wearing or charging it, but in the few times I’ve left it, it’s only gone down a few percentage points.

You should try it leave it on overnight without charging it will drop battery by 15-20%. Not sure why the watch does this iPhone doesn’t even drain that much in standby.

I take it back my battery doesn't drop as much compared to my 44mm. I left the watch powered on after 100% full charge and put it on airplane mode. It only dropped 6% overnight.

Yes, every night before I go to bed.

I was thinking of doing this too to save on battery (decrease the number of battery cycles so the battery lasts longer) since I dont' really use it at night unless I need to get up earlier than usual. I don't like charging it on my nightstand as I have two young kiddos who like to destroy everything they can reach so I usually wear it overnight in theatre mode and charge it for 15-30 minutes at my desk during the day.

Series 4 boots up to home screen pretty fast compared to S2 or S3 so it kind of make sense to turn it off at night. I actually do it everyday.

Not only do I not turn off my Apple Watch S4 - LTE Nike but when it is on the charger for that hour each day, I put on my Apple Watch S3 - LTE Nike. I need to close those rings. I need to keep that pulse monitor. I need...

Why does it “kind of” make sense to turn it off for no reason?!

Not entirely related, but I've gotten in the habit of putting the watch into low power mode when traveling internationally - particularly when hiking and being away from power for extended periods of time. It's stunning how long an S3 can last when fully charged and run only in low power mode.

Every time I don’t leave it on overnight for sleep tracking. I turn it off and on the charger.

I dont think its required but, Apple Watch will also give you the option to switch to Power Reserve Mode when it's close to running out of battery; Apple says you should get a couple of days of extra use by switching to this mode.

My series 2 used to have battery draining issues which were resolved by a restart.
I’ve noticed a few battery drains on my series 4 and I’ve done the same although I don’t know if it’s made a difference on the newer watch.

I have to restart my Nike+ Series 2 every couple of days or apps (particularly workout) take an age to load and respond. I wish it had a feature to reboot at 3am every day, I'd turn it on.

Why not since you're even using the watch? My main reason is to stop battery drain, I charged to 100% turn off before bed, wake up and you still have 100%. I also do it to give the battery some breaks.
