Next year and the year after, do you expect Apple to release an iPhone 6/7/8 style phone (bezel, two sizes, touchID) and also an iPhone X style phone? Or do you think by next year or the year after the iPhone X style will be the only line that receives updates?

I can see they go the route of iPad Pro 10.5”. Meaning trim down the bezels make screens a tad larger, say 5.0 for regular and 5.8 for the Plus model.

I don’t. I think the dual launch this year achievers a few things:

1. Stock - it gave Apple time
To produce more X as well as sell s phone during the interim (1.5-2 months)

2.raise prices- base prices of the 8 are the highest they’ve ever been

3. Choice- people were given a choice this year with the X in the back of their mind giving time for the evolution to happen.

Now I don’t know that Apple can justify $999 price tag forever. I think they’ll have to do something clever like make amolisnvsriant next year be the more expensive variant (starting st $999) or something. iPhone is their bread and butter and I can’t see the intermission continuing with $1000 entry level phones nor can I imagine them continuing the same front with huge chin and forehead going beyond the decade)

I wish they had gone that route but kept the same size display, rather than having the notch and tall narrow display of the X. The Plus is the perfect size display to me, but I would not mind a slightly smaller body. All the same I expect the 8 Plus will be the last of its kind.

For now I am sticking with my 7 Plus. Have no need for wireless charging and not so far convinced the camera improvements make it worth the upgrade to 8 Plus.
