I'm secure for now. I work in the medical field (clinical lab). My hospital is currently losing money because of a low census but there's still plenty of work to do and if I get laid off I can get another job fairly easily.

I feel safe at my job. We guarantee work for the next 2 years (government work) and the project I am currently on will last for the next year or so before it wraps up.

Based on the outlook my job is safe though these hard times and by the time the economy turns around and starts going strong again is when we start running low on future work.

I don't start my "first" job which is in IT until the end of the month but my employer is the government so I do feel safe about it.

Voted no because...well, I lost my job yesterday. I WAS a graphic designer at a newspaper until they eliminated our entire department and sent the work to another state. Newspapers are dead, so if you're looking for a job, don't start there!

I feel secure in my unemployment. I expect it to continue until I graduate college. Hopefully the economy will improve by then, so the prospects of setting up a comic book store will actually be worth my while.

You bet. :D

I would venture to say that I am among the few MR members that are actually retired (not retarded ... another subject).

Money comes to me, every month. :p

Reasonably secure. While some of our clients may be feeling the pinch due to investments that bit them in the butt and even the still-richest may be cutting back a few of the most extravagant arrangements we have more than sufficient bread-and-butter stuff to keep going, with a couple of truly extravagant projects still on track. My own financial status is also somewhat independent from my companies.

I had a severe breach of business trust between me and some of my partners a while back, and cutting them out and consequently downsizing the business actually prepared my core business quite well for the current situation.

I'm extremely fortunate to be one of those in the totally secure camp(public sector). short of committing and being convicted of a crime, i've got a job for life.
However, a very wise man once said to me, 'if these b*stards can invade iraq, they can take our job away!'
