I use my current 13" macBook unibody everyday. I'm a teacher and I take it with me to school everyday. I'm planning to give the current one to my wife and then buy one of the new models. I should add that I have the 24" LCD display for working at home. For those of you that have one do you think the 15" MacBook Pro is too cumbersome to carry everyday? I'm turn between buying a second 13" model or the 15" model.
Thanks for any input

Nope. I have mine with me pretty much every day. Stash it in a backpack and you can barely feel it.

One thing I'll tell you is after completing a business undegrad and completing an MBA in December, make sure you [gulp] buy Office for the Mac. My undergrad school, East Carolina, was more MAC-friendly and they didn't mind submissions in .doc, .pages, or even .pdf. However, my master's program at Florida State IS very picky and everything has to be in .doc format - not even .docx is acceptable.

So just make sure you’re prepared but I can tell you that you will enjoy having the MB for school. I had 3 different ones over my schooling from the original white MB, the second-generation MBA, and finally the MBP.

Oh, no. Definitely. I'll definitely buy Office.

On that topic, I've heard bad reviews of Office 2008. Do you recommend going down to Office 2004?

And what did you major in, mind my asking? I am really clueless as to what I want to major in. My longtime love for traveling + business + learning new cultures/languages should translate to an International Business/Finance major, but I don't know.

:(

I have and use 2008 daily for work. I have a PC at work but prefer to use my personal MBP with 2008, then email the work to my self on the PC. I think it is great and have never had any issues with it. I think it is like any new program. It is just takes time to use. Upgrading from 2003 (PC) to 2007 (PC) was a more difficult transition than moving to 2008 for the Mac.

Also, I travel internationally with my 15" MBP. I find that it packs very easily. Especially compared to my old PC Laptop and my friends PC's. They are huge and heavy compared to me MBP.

Office 2004 is a PPC program and has to run through Rosetta on Intel machines. It works, but it's slow.

2008 is intel-native and I've had no serious problems with it thus far.

Thank you for the replies.

I'm much more knowledgeable now. ;)
