Here's article on aluminosilicate glass, since I doubt a lot of you know what it is.

You guys can use a screen protector if you want, but saying someone is clueless because you're dwelling in your self guided ignorance is ridiculous.

It's really great that you have never scratched the glass on your iPhone, however, if you look at a typical hardness scale you will see that there is quite a few things that are capable of scratching glass. The most important of which is sand (ie. ground up rocks/pretty much any kind of dust).

----------

I use Zagg HD which was installed by Best buy. Its a good screen protector.

I hate how Best Buy charges so much to install it.

I used to use Zagg screen protectors on my iPhone and iPad. One day I removed the one on my old iPhone 4 and loved the way it felt without it so I have not used one again. I hate the rubbery feel of screen protectors and have had no problems with scratches on either screen.

I use a Screen Protector on my iPhone 4s but don't use one on my iPad 1st Generation Model but I will be Buying a Invisible Shield Anti Glare for my iPad Mini when i get it for Xmas Front & back Covering with a Smart Cover.

Well worth the $7.99 installation knowing I suck on installing it myself. In case anything goes wrong with the screen protector, I can exchange it to a Zagg kiosk for a brand new one, then take it back to Best buy for them to install.

$7.99 is a lifetime installation at Best buy

Absurd that cost IMHO

You have a defective unit if that happens. The screen is made with gorilla glass. Four years, every iPhone, no screen protector, no scratches.

I hear this over and over that the glass is hard to scratch. I am extremely careful and anal with my electronics. I only clean them with iKlear and a clean microfiber cloth. I've shown scratches on all my screens before I got the protectors on them. My first iPad had light surface scratches within a few months so I put a protector on it. My most recent iPhone 5 was bare for 2 weeks and had scratches on it. Always in a case with lay down protection and always in a pocket in my purse away from any keys, etc. the only possibility I could think of is that my earring scratched the screen. There's no way I'm going to remove my earring every time I use the phone so my phone is sporting the Bodyguardz Pure. It's the best glass protector and also covered up the scratches so thankfully I can't see them and they won't be bugging me anymore.

I had a powersupport one on my iphone 5 for all of about two days. now i'm back to protector less like on my iphone 4. i don't know what i was thinking.

I use iKross Anti-Glare Matte LCD Screen Protector, cuz it not expensive~ just $6.99 for 3pack

I dont trust Best Buy. I was watching one at a local store spray way too much of the solution on the phone.

Also this, http://epicagear.com/how-zagg-best-buy-ruined-my-iphone-5/

I won't pay someone to ruin my phone and void the warranty.

Scratch on my 4s, don't even know how it happened so definitely getting a screen protector for the 5.

Nope never use them.
They are a waste of time and money and serve no purpose, except to separate a fool from his money.

Power Support, sold in the Apple store, is the best - hands down. $14.95, comes with 2, really good cutouts, easy install and feels so good.

Yes but I only like Power Support Crystal after trying lots of others. Doesn't affect retina display and feels like actual screen.

I use cheap ones from ebay. I bought a pack of 10 clear for $2.19 and a pack of 10 anti glare for $5.50. I sell them at school for $3 :p

They're actually pretty high quality for the price.

Hi! Could you provide me the eBay links? Thanks in advance.

Re: Resale value. How do you sell a used iPhone? If you use a service like Gazelle, they don't have that much granularity in the levels of payment. I don't think a few scratches are going to change the price on you.

And how much difference in the price would it come to anyway? Cases and screen covers cost money. Are you even going to earn that back?

Finally, if the iPhone is so slippery and breakable and scratchable, in my mind that calls into question whether the design is that great in the first place. Good product design should take into account how it will actually be used. If you can't really use it without making all kinds of modifications to it, it's not a good design.

Nope. I have never used a screen protector on any of my iPhones. I tried one with my iPhone 4, and absolutely hated the feel of the phone with it on, and removed it within a day.

If I do every decide to go with a screen protector, I'd go with a Bodyguardz Pure to preserve the glass feel.

I'm considering on trying the BodyGuardz Pure too, anyone recommend it over the other brands?

Anyway, having a screen protector is better than someday, regretting when there's a deep scratch on the glass.

Can any1 Suggest me a scratch guard front and back which has the rubbery effect .... I had used one same for my 4S it was a liquid installation and i loved that rubbery effect and it also gave me a good grip. It was from ebay and i donno which brand it was .... Does Zagg or Bodyguardz have them or any other brand.
