Evo 4G that the 4S replaced is now on our 3rd line (with Google Voice, it will ring with my main number and dial out from my main number). Palm Pre, HTC Mogul, Wife's old Blackberry Curve, even some Samsung A900's! There are even some old Sanyo flip phones my 7 year old daughter plays with now.

Been with Sprint for a little while.

I have my old BB 8330 that I hope I have to never use. It was slow and froze all the time when I used it last.

You think the only reason to have a backup is in case of theft or fire? Is that how you approach computer back ups as well?

Yes, it's EXACTLY how I treat computer backups: I make sure the data is safe and will buy new hardware as needed.

I don't keep an extra Mac in my closet "just in case." Do you?

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4S: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I still have my 3GS, so if I need one I could use that.

I have a palm Pixi for back up, but only because I haven't cancelled the line yet. I opened a new line to get the iPhone 4s.

Samsung Strive. What a turd that phone is. But, it only cost me $10 and it's unlocked. Never had to use it but in the event I ever lose my iPhone, it's there.

iPhone 3G. It feels super slow after having used iPhone 4/4S, but it gets the job done. I have it unlocked with Cydia too, in case I want to pop in a prepaid SIM card.

I suppose I also have a Nokia phone that I could use as a backup as well...

Have a couple: 8GB iPhone 2G, 32GB iPhone 3Gs, 32GB iPhone 4.

I keep thinking I will sell the older ones, but I just haven't. I'll probably always hold on to my original iPhone.

I've kept all my previous phones, but they are pretty dumb and not smart phones.

Maybe add a poll to this thread to make it a little easier to get an idea?

Hah, coming to think of it, I do share the same thoughts. I never really considered my iPhone 2G as a 'backup' phone but yeah, I couldn't get myself to sell my original iPhone and I don't think I ever will. I usually tend to keep all my old phones; however I need to part ways with my iPhone 4 since I'll be using the funds from the iPhone 4 sales toward my 4S.

I have a BB Curve that is all beat up, and outdated, so it was really not worth selling. Its around incase me or my girlfriend need a phone in a pinch.

I miss the blackberry because I never had to worry about anyone wanting to steal it. Left it in the library for hours a few times and it was just sitting there out in the open when I came back.
