I have it on a 15 minute delay. Though there's not really anything on there that really needs securing; it's more for if I lose it or leave it in a restaurant or something.

What does delay actually do? Does it come up with a popup after the set amount of time asking you to input the password? (after you have already been using it)

The delay is from when it went idle. Note that playing video usually prevents it from going idle. Playing music counts as idle.

no need to lock it, i like using the smart case to open it without having to enter anything in.
Why no need to lock it? No personal information on it? No cookies set in Safari?

I have mine set to lock into a passcode after about 5 minutes.

Since I don't take my iPad out of the house, I don't use a password. I do use it on my iPhone since that goes out with me, but not the pad.

More like no desire to lock it because he feels the inconveniences far outweigh the benefits of improved security.

It's really convenient to just flip your smart cover open and delve straight into your iPad (or even the last app that was running before you put your iPad to sleep mode).

Which is why I feel a fingerprint scanner is of limited value to an iPad. How would it even integrate with a smart cover?

Yes, I have a passcode on my iPad (and my iPhone) that I use every time I unlock it. I do this out of protection in case, God forbid, I were to ever lose the device. Besides, it's only four numbers, not that hard to type every time.

I have a passcode set all the time, thats to keep my two kids from using it. They have their own tablets!

I have a password on mine and I have it to prompt everytime.

I don't have anything sensitive on there but it's on there in case it were to get stolen or I left it somewhere.

Yes I use a password on mine and I use it with a 5 minute delay. I wish Apple would have put the Touch ID on the new iPads.

I do --- I have clients' images and my personal/financial data on my iPad/iPhone/computers, so a passcode is a must for me, whether I am home, or away.

I have a passcode on mine with no delay in case they are lost or stolen. I take the rMini everywhere with me and even though the Air stays home if it were stolen it could be hours before I would even know.

I only use one when I take my iPad out. When I'm traveling I always set one. But never at home.

Same here. If it will be in my desk drawer at work or I am out somewhere I will put the LTE and passcode on just in case some one decides to take it, or I accidently leave it some where. :)
