Have an EFI-X system that is roughly a Quad Core 2009 Mac Pro, which I use for HandBrake DVD's, will also use for Photo and Video Editing when get camera.

I keep the mac mini 24/7 as media system so use that if sat at desk for Internet etc as on anyway.

Use 2008 Unibody 15" MBP around the house and when out. Probably 10% on my EFI-X system as is a waste when the mini is on for just surfing and general stuff.

I do most of my work on a 8x2.8 MP and a 4x2.8 xserve, and have a mini for media center/brain of my home/guest computer.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I use a first gen HDD MBA, which does everything I need in a mobile setting. I am planning to wait on the next update and move on to an MBA with 4GB RAM or another 13" offering. I sure hope they boost screen resolution...

Machines in sig.

I probably use the 17" for 70% of the time. Any serious work hits the Mac Pro (video & photo work).

I also use the wife's 13 alu MacBook from time to time...

Have a 2.8 octo and a 2.4 MBP early 2008. Split about 70% MP, 30% MBP. Just depends on where I am working in the house and on what.

I use mobile me to keep it synced, but still there are some problems between handling things amongst the MBP, MP and my iPhone. Sometimes if I leave mail open on the MP, it downloads them and I don't get the notice on my iphone. Really annoying and an easy fix, just need to look at. However with graduate school just starting, I am swamped.

Have considered getting a MB Air, but the MBP is fine and I don't take it with me that much to school yet. Was toying with the idea of a netbook or PB 12", but there is no need for a laptop in class, so when I would need one it would be for research or a library, where a 15" screen would be appreciated.

Where you doing grad school? I notice you're in Philly... I'm 1 quarter into Drexel U.'s online Master's CS Program...

And yes, MobileMe is a godsend between my 2 macs and my iPhone (especially now with the new iDisk program for the iPhone.)

I have a dell mini 9 Hackintosh. With 10.5.7
I use it all the time. I use it to view images from my camera. Much easier to viewing them on the netbook screen, then the cameras.
I also do a lot of emails and web surfing in bed, late at night.
I love how small and quiet the the little thing is. No hard drive or fans.

Please Apple, make make a mini macbook:)

I am in Philadelphia University's Physician Assistant program. First quarter here as well, still trying to get to know the city.

Want to learn the happy hours here as well.

Ah... gotchya...

Well, I'm in Atlanta, I take classes online, so I can't really help ya with the happy hour scene... I DO fly up to Phily from time to time for work, but our office is in Cherry Hill, NJ, across the river, so I spend very little time in Philly itself.

I used to have a Mac Pro at work with a Macbook for home use, but I got tired of not always having the files I wanted in the right place. I replaced both with a MBP hooked up to a 30 inch display. Currently, I love the setup and don't miss the extra power.
