Yes. In the same way that the iPod was an evolution of this beauty.

woohoo diamond rio! :D

difference is people do not wear calculator watches these days and in a lot of cases, a watch at all. They listened to their mp3 players when the ipod came out and hit the world by storm.

well, two things, first of all from my very limited experience, very few people used an MP3 player in 2001. It may not have been quite as geeky as calculator watches, but it certainly wasn't a mainstream phenomenon at that point. I did own the very first iPod and while everyone that saw it was instantly hooked by the design, it certainly didn't hit the world by storm in the sense that everyone ran out and got one right away. It took a few years for that to happen.

Yes, unless I am somewhere without reliable access to power, like camping.

I am not planning on wearing it everyday

Specifically, I am not going to wear it on:
June 15
August 19
Sept 2
December 12-14

I don't know yet about 2016. Will post when I do.

Why are you bothered? There must be a million other products that you don't intend buying either. Do you visit their forums too just to tell them you aren't buying? The thread title specifically excluded you. Not everything is about you.

Although it's not saying much, this is probably the most informative and valid post on this entire forum. Thank you for letting this person know the truth.

I would re-evaluate August 19. That will be a HUGE day for important text messages, August 18 and 20 not so much.

hmmmm....but given the time zone change on the 19th, I still may get those messages on the 18th, but I could be wrong. thanks for the heads-up
...I will re-examine.

As the next generation gets used to smart watches, they will care less about mechanical/automatic watches that only tell time. Get ready for the value of a Rolex to drop. :-(

Just means price upside for Rolex is capped.

For the price I paid for it? Yes. And yes I do feel like I'm missing out on the rings, but I've gotten to the point where I care less and less, and when the watch dies in the middle of the day and I can't get my rings then I just say **** it

I've been wearing mine (S0 then an S2) every single day since this thread was first created.:D

It's kind of stunning to open the Health app and see how far back my daily heart rate and movement data goes.

Almost everyday with the occasional brake and the maybe rocking a different watch every now and again.

Wow a 2015 thread! :D Awesome. Yes, I wear my Apple Watch ALL THE TIME. The only time I don't wear it is when I'm showering or giving it a quick charge at work (I bought an extra cable for work so I could keep it full all the time). So yeah, I wear it all night, all day, but not while showering.

Not Enough information here. Do you have a first generation Apple Watch? If so, the perhaps you are in need of a battery replacement at the three-year benchmark since its release. Apple can also conduct a free battery test for you in store over the phone. The threshold is 80% I believe.

I'm not getting one because I can't bear to leave an expensive watch sitting in a drawer. The last time I did that, I got burgled and lost multiple watches.

I don't wear my Rolex to show it off. I wear it because it's the most comfortable watch I've ever owned, and because as a watch fan, I appreciate its history, heritage, and timeless style.

I have both a Rolex and an Apple watch series 3.

I wear my Rolex on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right wrist. I have the orientation of the Apple watch set up for the right wrist and it works really well.

I wear both watches all day and all night. I use the Apple watch to track sleep

The only time I take both off is when I am in the shower, even though both are waterproof (the Rolex is good to 1,220m!), and this is when I put the Apple watch on charge. This charge is easily enough to keep the Apple watch going until the next day and the next shower.

I am very comfortable with this setup and it does not feel weird at all.

Well I have 3 watch models, but I use my Series 2 38mm — the battery life is fine, it’s just that I’m a lazy ass who doesn’t put it on the charger every night

Yup, every single day, even when I sleep. I take it off only when I go to shower.

I would want to if I got one, but I love my Rolex, so I'm not getting one.
I always wanted a Swiss automatic watch until I found out the majority are just fancy bracelets, watch cases with off the shelf movements, sometimes tweaked and branded. I was looking at an Omega and then the Apple Watch came along.

I don't think I will ever use a normal watch again. The Apple stainless steel watch is perfect and with everything else it does, a normal watch seems incredibly limited in comparison.

Sure a mechanical watch looks great and lasts for years but at this moment in time (who knows 20 years later, we may be using something else) the Apple Watch is the best buy!

Remember how popular CD players were in the 90s? Everyone had one. There were super high end ones and I had one with a dac. Then MP3 players came along, and then a few years later you could play music on your phone. If you told me in the 90s my Hi-Fi would be replaced with a single speaker which could play music from a phone, I would think you are insane.

I believe the Apple Watch will slowly kill off the mechanical watches with them slowly becoming a niche market! Just like CD players now. But, like vinyl, they could also make a come back years later.

I’ve had my Apple Watch since 2015. Started with the Series 0 and now I’m on Series 3. To me, it’s mainly been an activity tracker, with notifications thrown in. I find that I still need to pull out my iPhone to answer most texts, since the canned responses are only good for a few responses. If the Apple Watch has done anything for me, it’s increased my interestes in mechanical watches and horology.

I agree with you. I like my Apple Watches and they serve their purpose, but it also has piqued my interest in mechanical watches more often than not, and I’m not someone that has a lot of mechanical watches. So I do enjoy rotating both my Apple Watch and other watches I own, when I didn’t even really wear much of a mechanical watch prior.
