The iPhone 5 is too tall and skinny. The screen aspect is ok, but all the meat Apple left top and bottom just makes it look out of proportion.

I much prefer the overall shape and scale of the iPhone 4. If apple had modernized the shell like everyone else and scaled the height of the shell proportionately, it wouldn't look so odd.

4s

I have a white 4S. I looked at the 5 in the store. I find the 4S to be a nicer looking phone. I prefer the solid glass back. IO6 I will not install after reading about data usage and slow wifi. These are big concerns. This is the first time I have no desire to upgrade the iPhone. I'm also afraid they will eventually ruin the design. Like they did with the Nano. The first gen Nano was beautiful. Now it's ugly to me. I'm holding onto this solid, beautiful 4S for as long as I can.

I hated the iPhone 4 (2010) cause of the sensor issue. People claimed apple fixed the prox sensor problem with software updates but it never did it for me. Maybe it's the way I talk and angle the phone but the sensor activates and shuts the call off during calls all the time for me.

So good riddance to the iphone 4.

Had iPhone 5 for 5 days now. It's taller, getting used to.

The iPhone 4S is probably the most rock solid iPhone at this point. I haven't had enough time with iPhone 5 to give a full critique of it.
