okay... let it be know... I'M A CHICK! LOL :D

I just wanted to add my 2 cents here, just for perspective purposes

A few types of make up that are out there
The first 3 are acceptable in the GIVEN circumstance... you cannot interchange them.
The last is just wrong on soooo many levels!

1. Church makeup
2. Day-to-Day (your typical put-on-for-work or whatever) makeup
3. "Clubbin' Makeup"
4. Over the top/over the hill lady trying to still look 20 (and even then she wore too much)

My mom always told me (sigh... i swore i'd never quote her...) that "The key to wearing make up is to make it look as though you're wearing none at all"
That having been said...
Day to day makeup needs to be just that.

Church Makeup is some lighter blush and maybe some simple eyeshadow but nothing dark or to thick (in terms of eyeliner or mascara).

Clubbin makeup is the dramatic/dark/charcoal lined eyes and heavier blush (so you can actually see it in the dimmer light)...
I mean... we're putting sparkles on our boobs for pete's sake! you're not even lookin' at our eyes!!! LOL

and the 4th type... you've all seen them...
Think... "Mi mi" from the Drew Carey show ;)

I'm not really sure if I "like it" when women wear make up, but I find the 'barely there' application much more appealing than even the 'well made up' application.

Take for example Eva Green in Casino Royale:
Here's her minimal look (granted it's a movie so this is probably more makeup there than most, but still here she has the barely made up look :) )

And here she is with the full on, but well made up look

I prefer how she looks in the first picture by far.

Well you could always get a stencil for that glitter boob spray and spell out "Look up stupid!". :D

You forgot false eyelashes, which are always hot for a clubbin look. And while we're at it,nice plump limps, courtesy of Venom from Sephora. Most of the girls that come in for a clubbin look for the night, have those two automatically...
Sparkling boobs ftw!!! No doubt there :D

Why, yes. As far as it's done neatly.

And I can not write it better than what WinkWink726 already did, so I'll just refer to her post.

Although, I like to add that overdone make up can be very neat for photo shots, since it's done on purpouse, and therefore controled, yet over dramatic. I like it.

I always prefer the natural look...

However, if a woman I'm dating wants to wear a little light makeup, I don't mind...it's her choice. I just don't find the gaudy, over-the-top makeup that some women wear, very attractive.

I agree with you. My wife has wonderful skin and she doesn't wear make up, but there are days she does and she uses a little and it's fine with me.

What, really?

How are you confused. I'm a little emo boy, not gay.

Little bit is okay. Maybe some guyliner or something but that's it. When guys look like jeffree star, then it gets out of hand.

I effing hate Jeffery Star! Wayyy too much make up.
And out of all the gay guys I'd expect him to support Obama the most, which he doesn't at all.

A lot of scene/emo/punk guys do it nowadays.

Not callin iParis scene/emo/punk or anything...

Lol. Actually, I am scene/emo so I don't mind at all. Right now I'm trying to go for the more scene look so I need to grow my hair out longer dye it black, maybe bleach part of it too. Also, I need some more clothes.

OH, and I often paint my nails black, but haven't done it in awhile.

i too think they look better without but some that can wear makeup good are a + on my list too. But girls never believe that they look better without make up on

How odd! I never mentioned homosexuality, where did you pull that from
I'm just wondering is all. Men wearing make up was never part of my social background, even the mad rocker/punk/goth people wouldn't wear makeup around these parts. Peter Kay even joked about it so it must be a North West thing.

I know, but I'm sure that a lot of people would have been like "are you sure you're not gay" if I said I was only emo.
And really? Do you know what scene/emo is?

I don't wear the stuff because I hate it, but whatever makes a woman more comfortable with herself sits fine with me and it "should" with any of you too.

Of course, a lot of those who proclaim that "women shouldn't wear makeup" would, at the same time, say a girl was a minger if they had bad skin that they haven't covered up by makeup. And regularly and cheerfully drool away over airbrushed women in pictures with artifically flawless skin, darkened eyes, and so on.

And probably don't realise that a whole lot of women they think don't wear makeup (but are so naturally beautiful OMG!!!), actually do, just in a more subtle way.

I don't wear makeup myself, but it's all good if people choose to, I reckon. Whatever they feel suits them.

This is a brilliant post and effectively summed up my feelings on the subject. It needed quoting.

...

On a related note, and I'm not trying to be sexist or anything, but can the women on this forum please tell me why you think it's necessary to douse yourselves in perfume? Not sure who you're doing it for, but no one appreciates it (certainly not most men at least) and it's simply not appealing. (and if you're a woman on this forum who DOESN'T do this...kudos to you :) )
When you find yourself around one of those women, why not ask them?
Personally I find many more men cologne dousers than women and it is about as attractive as a fart in a car.

I'm almost positive that that stuff is a drug!!! LOL :p

I Like to original with no tint, I like to play up my eyes so i go with more natural lips

Have you ever used the tinted venom? if yes, do you like it?

Pretty sure you're asking a dude if he likes the tinted venom. Not that I can comment on whether or not he wears it ... apparently it is cool for men to wear makeup (I disagree), but I'm pretty sure you're asking a dude if he wears it.

I don't really wear it. I'll toss some powder on and brush my eyebrows since I have some lighter hair there, but nothing much. Someone told me I should put something around my eyes, I've thought about it ... but nothing past that. I have no one to impress and frankly it's impossible to see past all the rest so why bother with something like my eyes?

I'm ok with anyone who wants to wear it, but if you overdue the eyes and such I'll tell you Avril called and wants her look back. ;)

It can be quite addictive..We use the regular and the tinted all the time in my salon...

"He" doesn't wear it.."He" just gets paid to apply it :p

Thanks! It's a fun business :)

Smashbox has some great stuff..I've used that product. It works nice but it's hard to compete with Venom..I like using the clear Venom, and then adding powdered pigment to it to pick up the eye shadow....
We use a lot of MAC Cosmetics.Pricey, but they wear well and last. Their Pigments are amazing..If you use them, there's a great alternative to them that wear just as well and are a fraction of the cost.

I do like it when women wear make-up. If it is applied appropriately, it is one way of showing they care about their appearance. That said, it is not a problem if a woman doesn't care to wear make-up - if they are comfortable with their appearance to go out looking natural then that's cool too.

4. Over the top/over the hill lady trying to still look 20 (and even then she wore too much)

Verily, mutton dressed as lamb. It is an art to apply make-up to enhance the beauty of your years rather than applying make-up in a way (usually with a trowel) to act as a substitute for a time machine to take you back to your lost youth.

Why, yes. As far as it's done neatly.

Indeed, isn't this something you have an interest in with your photography?
Then again, photo shoots are designed to be dramatic and provoke a reaction where the model's make-up and features are over accentuated. But yes, I like it because it takes the make-up artist's art to its extreme, but I would probably run away if I encountered something like that in real life though.

I'm not big on it; in fact none of the women I've been seriously attracted to in recent history have been heavy (or even light, really) makeup users. I prefer the natural look in that regard...shows confidence when a girl thinks she's attractive enough without it.
