Do you like, or loath, translucent/frosted glass use in iOS 7?

Yeah, the CC really looks like ****. It feels completely different from the rest of the system.

But doesn't the CC match the folders? To me, the notification center is the one that doesn't match (but it's understandable, because it needs more contrast to read text)

I voted that I love it, because I do, but with one caveat. I don't like it in the dock because it can take on an unflattering color depending on the wallpaper. I had to quit using my wood panel wallpaper because it made the dock a sickening salmon color.

I would rather the dock be completely transparent, or perhaps just barely translucent.

This...the dock needs some work. Hopefully they work on it a bit.

Any chance of them adding a transparent or barely translucent as you said?

Translucency is the least of its problems, though I'll agree a poor choice of background can add to readability issues because of it.

If the idea is to make the UI more "out of the way" of the user, they certainly missed the point by using <blink>neon</blink> colors.

(no, I didn't expect to the blink tag to do except <sarcasm></sarcasm>)

I'm not sure which one I like better, light or dark. However, it would be nice if you could choose sort of a light or dark theme. Say you choose dark, all the frosted glass, control center, notification center, AND folders, would all have that dark glass look.

YES! So far, I'm fine with the new iOS 7 UI, but I would LOVE to have a dark theme just because it's easier on the eyes. Wasn't there a rumor that said something about light and dark themes being available?

Oh and a reference for a dark theme might be something like Safari in private mode.

There is a vast middle ground between like and loath. I don't find it al that useful but it doesn't bother me either.

A lot has been made of the use of translucency, or the sort of frosted glass, that is used for the notification center, control center, and folders. Some, like myself, like it a lot. I think it allows the entire OS to kind of theme itself around the background of your choice. Others hate the look, compare it to Windows Vista, and say it seems old. What do you think?

It's one of the few things I like, although the dock could look better. The rectangle could at least have curved corners.

Nothing implied

Since you quoted my post, I was curious as to what it was in my post that lead you to believe that it bothers me? :)

Sorry, should have chose my words better. Just meant it as a tip for those who didn't realize it could be disabled. Going along with your "Need to add choice" statement.
I'm like you, don't really care either way myself. It is a cool effect though.

Love it. The more colors on in the wallpaper, the better it works IMO.

The effect itself is nice however it was rushed out without proper optimization. It lags iphone 5 which in itself should be self explanatory that it's not optimized properly like all previous ios versions were.

This can easily be tested by opening messages app and with the keyboard up switching to landscape. it will lag. Now turn it off and there is no lag. Same thing with apple maps.

Uh, am I insane? Mine is just grey. Can't see anything through it.

eta: alright, when i change my wallpaper there is a slight molting effect. Very slight though

On IPad 2 and 4S it looks less transparent than on e.g. IPad mini and IPhone 5. On the latter devices it looks way better than on the two former.

I'd like to see them try making the Control Center transparency the same as the Notification Center transparency. Otherwise, I like it a lot!

I like it, however, there are times when buttons appear over colored frosted ares and the buttons can appear red, green or yellow and my brain misses them because I am looking for a mono chromed button...like the x or clear buttons in the notifications.

Alright, here's another question - everything on my 5S is grey (dock, notification centre, control, back of folders). Just updated my friend's 4S and it's all blue. Is that just a distinction between models or is there a way to change the colour?

ETA: it seems to change colour based upon your wallpaper...
