On my first day but already I love not having the stupid home button. Apple has been trying to eliminate moving parts sine the beginning.

Face recognition is even faster to unlock too. Swipe up to get home screen is already automatic for me. Love everything about it.

Not a bit. I find it faster now navigating around iOS with the swipe up than using the home button.

Also much prefer FaceID over touchID, the unlocking process just seems much more automatic and seamless.

No not usually, unless I’m using my banking app that requires me to type the password in now that I don’t have the fingerprint option to sign in.

If I didn' have to swipe up I wouldn' miss it at all. The fact I could just push a button and be on my home screen makes me miss it sometimes.

Don’t even notice it. Then I find myself using family members iPhones and I try swiping and and pointing the phone at my face to unlock

No i don't miss the home button. Swipe gesture's are the real deal. It's much faster to go home, switching between apps, multitasking every thing is fast fluid and easy to use.

The home button has always been a staple for the iPhone over the years, but once you become adjusted to gesture controls, you will eventually forget about the home button. But I will say, I really did like the haptic home button on the iPhone 7/8, given that I did like the haptic feedback. Also, with the haptic home button, it was a much quicker press versus using the older push style home button.

I'v started to swipe up, when I help others with their non-iPhone X, after looking at the control center for a sec, I press the Home button.
So no, I don't miss it.. 🙂

Three weeks with the X and it’s hard to remember what the home button felt like. Hurray for adaptable human brains!

Funny how when I first heard the rumors about Apple removing the home button I thought it was crazy talk.

Me too. I was doing that on my Galaxy S8 the other day when I went back to check some files. On Android, there was a way to simulate the swiping gestures, but the experience was no where as good.

Those of you have had the X for awhile, how's life without the home button?

Went to Accessibility and activated the software version on screen. Can move it around by dragging, press it and many, many options become available, can assign different options for use and actions. Pretty cool

No, but I still find myself pressing the place where it used to be. These occasions are becoming less often though.

One week with my X and I don’t miss it at all. Swiping up for the home screen seems perfectly natural and intuitive.

I've had my iPhone since Friday, and it didn't take that much time to get used to not having a home button anymore. The first day I would occasionally try to press the bottom part of the screen, like it's the home button. But I got used to it now and actually find it a way more satisfying feeling compared to the home button.

At first I was a bit afraid the app switcher gesture was gonna be a heck of an annoying one, but it turns out it isn't. A lot people were making too much fuss on a gesture that makes quite some sense and is really easy to use (swipe up, swipe right and BAM, there it is).

I also saw this video of Unbox Therapy yesterday with his thoughts on the iPhone X. He argued about the swipe up gesture on the lock screen after having unlocked the phone. I just raise or tap to wake, swipe up immediately and BAM, I'm on my home screen. Strange that some people don't seem to know about it.

All the gestures make the device as a whole feel more fluid than ever before. Like you're in control of the navigation more, as it could previously take a split second for the home button to execute a command.

So, good job Apple! 😀

Nope.

The swipe gestures very intuitive its amazing how fluid it is when you want to go home or straight to multi-tasking. I never thought reachability would be easier without the home button (let alone included) but my gosh it is!

Not at all - swiping up is very intuitive and unlocking is fast. Fumbling around for a button to unlock is such a first-world problem now, and they can't bring Face ID to iPad fast enough.
