I ripped it apart the other day as it was running 98 and i never used it. I wanted the harddrive out of it, so that i could upgrade the one in my Xbox (originial) from an 8gb to a 40gb. Took 2 days due to poor mac compatibility with it but it eventually pulled through.

This is the onlytime i have had poor compatibilty though

I think my households current count is 3 Macs and 3 - 4 PCs in various states of usability. One is running Linux which I originally envisioned as an SVN server for me and my Dad to do some programming together on. Another is running Windows XP and my Dad uses it to do micro-controller programming (AVRs I think they are?).

The Macs are for more serious computing needs.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 - which is a real POS. In fact, I've had it less than three years (and it's been online, literally, like four times in all) and it takes nearly ten-fifteen minutes to start up. 14" screen... sucks. The only redeeming quality was that since I didn't register it, I was able to steal the serial number off that version of XP to authenticate the copy of XP my boss gave me for my Fusion setup...

My rents have a Dell E510, which has served them moderately well for the last two years. However that's starting to slow down and age quickly. I've talked them into lining up a 20" iMac for their next one :D I'm what you might call a Mac Enabler.:apple:

I also have XP installed in Fusion on my MBP - does that count? I only use it for IE7...;)

yes, i love my PC, i cant run sony Vegas or play games on my MBP (well not very well anyway)

but for surfing all i use is my mac

Unfortunately, I do have a PC, but its OK as I got it free from the school! Its a Ergo laptop.

I would have preferred a MacBook, but ah well, im saving for one anyway.

Current count in my life, (Includes machines I maintain for my parents).

Desktops.
3 Macs
3 Windows PC's

Laptops
3 Macs
3 Windows PC's

All the Windows machines I have are either my parents or were gifted to us. I'm working hard on getting all the PC's I can replaced with Macs, (my wife has a work issued Dell and the folks just bought a Toshiba). I'm fixing to replace my kid's PC's with G3 iMacs, as well as my dad's desktop with a G4 iMac.

Since switching to Mac, I just don't have the patience to deal with Windows little peculiarities.

I've got one of those too!!( My work issued) Basically solid machine, but definitely no speed demon. As my work only requires a few MS Office programs, I've parked it in the corner in favor of a Macbook. Hasn't been turned on in a year or more.

Nope, I have a 20" iMac, my 17" MBP, and the hubby has a 13" MacBook.
My kids do have a desktop PC though. It's really crappy but they're only 3-7, so if they break it, I won't care! I might get them a Mini for Xmas though. Hmmm.

I have to admit that once a month Max I will use their PC. I do market research and no matter what I do it will not work with the Mac's and HAS to use PC IE.

I game quite a bit, so I have a PC.
Yes, I know I can play ~12% of games on my Mac, but that's just not quite satisfactory for a gamer like me. :p

12" G4 iBook - mobile web & email
G4 Graphite PM - always-on video transcoding
3GHz PC - workstation & gaming system, due for upgrade by Spore release :D
1GHz PC - RAID fileserver, print server, & game server

PS: Yes, I know I could BootCamp my PC games if I bought a new MacIntel, and maybe someday I will. However, it seems like a waste of money when I can get MacPro gaming performance for a fraction of the price by building my own Windows box.

I own 10 PCs at the moment...

Most of them are from the 90s.. :p

Hopefully a MacBook Pro will replace them all in near future :)

Yeah I love my PC I just hate Windows.... I've always built my own from the case up so I always get attatched to my machines!!! :p

Man I love this thing.... running XP :( for games at the moment. Wish I could put OS X on it though.... maybe one day, maybe one day!

Sounds like a nice machine, Smoogz.

I would say something about the OS X thing, but im not allowed to...

oh oh tell me pretty please ;) u could always send me a pm u know! oh well i guess i'll have to start lookin hard for something then.... perhaps if i tried to emulate through linux....

My answer is yes, but technically, it's yes by default. My wife has had a Dell for years. So we have her Dell and my 3 Macs. The Dell is dusty a lot.

I don't own a PC but we have one in the house - its the family computer and I always end up fixing it

Because work literally gives me old PC's, I have 3 non working or in need of repair machines and my xMac project (formerly my OSX86 PC)

Yes

I have a pc desktop. It's currently in the closet. I have macbook with 24" monitor running vmware+vista for visual studio 2008(both free free from msdn AA) and eclipse+omondo). But I'm going to install linux+vista on desktop since I have a lot of windows games and I'm studying software production. As nice as my laptop with wmvare is it is not the same as the real desktop and buying a macpro is not an option.

"DONT GET A MAC, it'll ONLY MAKE YOU HATE YOUR PC"..so i guess the saying is true. Ever since i got my mbp...i rarely use my PC. haha.

and to top it off, it goes in nice and roomy Silverstone case(tj-09).
