Despite coming here and reading this thread I learned almost nothing other than that some people would rather spend more time discussing the merits of using google versus actually answering a question.

As far as $200 BT headphones go, I can't say much about the cans, but I know a lot of the buds are marketed towards sports and active lifestyle. Seldom do I see many of these things trying to convince me how great they'll sound, but I also admit I'm not looking very hard.

So, really, what's the take home point? Don't spend money on headphones, or...?

I don't expect/need high quality sound from a phone. Would rather have my iphone then aptx. Would take both though.

If I want high quality sound, I will go to my son's house and listen to his Paradigms.

IMHO

My bluetooth headphones support AAC and when I pair them with my MacBook that's what it uses (alt click on the bluetooth icon in the menu bar to see what it is using.) SBC sounds pretty bad, but AAC is good. The iPhone supports AAC over bluetooth as well so should default to that rather than SBC and the sound quality from my iPhone sounds like my MacBook when it is playing the same files so I'm assuming it isn't using SBC as I can easily hear the artefacts SBC introduces (sounds rather like a 64kbps MP3 IMHO, lots of whooshing, thin bottom end, sucky mid-range and lack of detail in the highs.) AptX would be useful for listening to FLAC files but I would tend to use my wired audiophile cans for that anyway. I bought the wireless headphones because I kept getting my cable tangled in my cross trainer when working out.

Seriously, who is buying these that they are backordered.

You can use them now with the existing lightening port?

A new one is coming out with 20 ohm impedance. What's that advantage.

Do people walk around with Senheisser hd600s and a headphone amplifier?
If not then who cares.
