If our internet at home was faster I would be more inclined to rent movies from iTunes but it's quicker to just hop in the car and go pick one up.

I use redbox I have 4 redboxs' within 5 miles of my house so if one is busy I can always run by the other. $1.00 and I can watch it as many times as I want in 24hrs

i do. i don't have a DVD player in my room most of the time (usually my 360 is in my camper so i can play it when we go camping and that's my only DVD player) so the main way for me to watch movies is my :apple:TV. i don't feel like driving to BlockBuster to pick up a movie so i just get my remote and rent a movie or buy one. i don't mind the 24 hour thing cause when i watch movies i watch the whole thing right then (i make sure i have time) so it doesn't matter to me

Really stupid question here but:

For those of you who rent movies from itunes who don't have ATV, how do you watch these movies, on your computer, ipod? Are you using a video output to your TV? I ask because I would wonder about the video (and audio) quality.

Funny thing is, these responses make it sound like you can only have one or the other. We have an :apple:TV and occasionally rent movies on it. We also rent movies from Blockbuster and have considered Netflix. In defense of the :apple:TV and iTunes rentals it is nice to be able to spontaneously decide to rent a movie and watch it right now, without having to go to the rental store.

We get Netflix DVDs at home, but haven't tried the streaming netflix yet. I am anxious to give it a shot.

As for renting movies from iTunes, I usually just buy them instead. I watch movies two or three times, and my wife can watch them again and again as well.

I watch then on my Mac Pro with a 23" ACD the quality is very good especially with HD TV shows.
