I never shake my soy milk. ;)

I voted as a milk drinker, but probably just screwed up the stats of your poll a bit.

"Does soy have titties??? NO!! And keep it away from my moo-cow-****-milk. It's taking to it, and making it feel bad about itself." - Lewis Black

I use the plastic bags, so I don't shake, and I use it up far too fast in 4-liter sacks to worry about it going bad.

But if I'm out and about, and there is a waxboard container, I will pinch the spout, and give it a shake. An affection in tribute to my younger days.

I never drink just milk, I hate the taste and don't even keep it in the house. I don't mind it in foods and some beverages though.

Who wants foamy frothy milk? Gross!

I don't shake the milk, but it does end up with a "micro-foam" texture by the time I'm finished putting it with my coffee - with some dark chocolate powder across the top of it for good measure.

Since we buy powdered milk, I always shake it up to make sure there isn't any unmixed. I also sniff it to make sure it hasn't gone off -- one spoonful of bad milk with my cereal and I can't even look at the stuff for weeks.

If i have milk in the house which is a very rare occasion i will shake it before drinking. I also check the use buy date too!

Milk for me, having two much makes me feel unwell

Only time I have ever shaken a container of milk was when I buy a bottle of chocolate milk. When I buy a gallon of milk I drink it so fast it might last me 2-4 days before it's gone.

Sorry but if you have to smell your milk before you drink it you need to drink it quicker or buy less ;)

My milk shake brings all the local young men to my garden, keen to sample it

They insist that it's quality is superior to unshaken

Whoa whats with the milk hate?

I love milk and I like to drink it without putting anything in it, not even sugar. Yes, I used to hate milk as a child but I started to just drink milk when I'm feeling hungry at night or something and I began to love it.

To answer the topic, yes I shake my milk. It's because I buy the cream top version. I buy it just because the cream on the inside top of the carton tastes great! :D That makes it better than homogenized milk in my book.

I have never heard of shaking milk, and why put it in a bag?

Because Canadians are weird! :D

It's the only way to keep milk, as iJohnHenry said.

-Fresh: the bags are 1.33L, and sold in packs of three. Thus you get 4 liters but only one bag at a time is opened, thus oxidizing a smaller quantity.

-Better taste: no cardboard taste nor heavy plastic taste like jugs give to the milk.

-Ecological: fewer plastic than jugs. Slightly less heavy, thus requires less fuel to transport.

-Takes less space in the fridge, you can store the bags horizontally when they're not opened. And while this would be possible with 1L cartons, milk is cheaper in bulk.

:)

I shake it. Regardless of "homogenization" I still find that shaking my skim milk clears up any possible issues, as I have found separation does occur.

That sounds and well looks disgusting.

I'm a milk drinker and I love milkshakes too, but not shaken milk.

But if it's a special occasion I might put a squirt of strawberry syrup in a glass of milk, then stir it well. After all, I need to have my minimum daily requirements of both vitamin D and sugar. :)
