A lot of threads have focussed on whether it is reasonable to shower with the iPhone 7, if one ought to, etc.

Now that the phones have been released for some time: Do you shower with your iPhone 7?

What are your experiences?

I have seen at least one thread referencing water damage to the iPhone 7 presumed to be caused by the shower...is this an anomaly or the norm?

yes i have def used it in the shower. although I don't put it directly under the jet stream that is just silly.

it only ends up with splashes of water on the screen. however if your showers are piping hot then it is a dumb idea as steam will penetrate your phone. Not saying it will def damage your phone, but its risky to try

If anybody showers with their iPhone 7 I really do hope the water resistance fails. What a stupid and pointless thing to attempt.

oh give it a rest! so many people have this stupid attitude to this question when its asked. they don't want to hold it under the shower, people are just looking for advice because its useful to know you can quickly send or read an urgent text, or more importantly change the music track if its hooked up to bluetooth speakers etc

How can you need to send an urgent text when you are in the shower? Either you’d send it before you got in or you’d get out the shower and send it after. What would be do important that you have to send a text during the 60 seconds you are in the shower?

Why not take a toaster in with you incase you get suddenly hungry or the TV just incase X-Factor results come on.

Seriously!!

Even if I had one I think I could function perfectly well for 20 minutes without it...

Thread title had me like:

It actually just dawned upon me after reading this thread that I don't ever take my phone to the bathroom with me. Unless said phone is in my pocket, which means I'm out and about. And even then in the pocket it stays until I'm a safe distance away from pools of water, small or large as they may be. Just a habit, I guess.

So yeah, I have yet to shower with my phone. It's a delightfully absurd idea, though.

I'm entitled to my opinion here. If you need to send a text while in the shower, you don't have time for a shower. I won't give it a rest, i'll share my opinion like anybody else, thanks. ;)

water proof
vs
water resistant

There is a difference. Apple will be quick to point this out when people start returning their soggy iphones.

At the same time there are actual specifications that come with the IP67 rating as well.
