Do you... Shutdown or 'close the lid'?

I usually just close the lid. Although I try to restart the computer at least once every few days. I will probably just close the lid unless the computer starts getting buggy.

I shut down or press sleep, because if I just close the lid, then it will just go in clamshell mode and show up on my external monitor

same here I have to put it to sleep or shutdown because of my external monitor

I've had my computer for about 7 years now and have always just closed the lid.
