That Apple Watch screen protector looks terrible.

Thanks ZipZap for your opinion.
That’s the funny thing about accessories- you get to choose what suits both function and aesthetics.
The Apple Watch for me is more for function as training watch.
I have killed 2 screens hence the screen protector, this one doesn’t limit the touch screen at all and protects it well.

My traditional watches are less function and more aesthetics.
I can see a few people here have either the same or opposite opinions but still value both traditional and Apple watches.

Funny thing. I’m a watch lover. I have multiple watches, some high end some not. I was given the Apple Watch 2 when it came out and used it once. I’m now thinking of getting a series 6 to try again. Only reason I want to get more active to be healthier.

Would you keep the victorinox I bought? I am not sure if I'll use it often snough, but knowing that the thing is quite stylish and INDESTRUCTIBLE makes me feel as if I had Thor's hammer bound to my wrist. :D

I personally wouldn't keep it, but I'm just some random watch snob on the internet, so no reason to listen to me. 🤙

I wear my Apple Watch most of the time as it’s so useful and provides so many metrics. its hard to have the same type of attachment knowing it will be in a landfill in a few years. I’m glad the Apple Watch is here as it’s saving me from buying so many high end watches.

Well I went for the gold - gold apple watch 6 just like on the photo I posted, so it will be very versatile with the black nike sports band I have.

I decided to keep the Victorinox to look stylish even when a situation requires ruggedness like for example fixing something or doing stuff in or around my house.

I have my same analogue Tudor Black Bay dark watch on my left arm & now AW on my right. Take 'em both off overnight as have a Withings sleep sensor under my mattress at home.

Tried all combos, this feels the least weird. I've had a heavy 'sports' watch on my left arm since my twenties, can't
stop now.

Same as many here. I wanted an Omega Moon watch for many years, having watched Neil Armstrong first step on the moon when I was a youngster. Now it sits in my safe and I only wear AW.

Before getting my first Apple Watch 5 years ago, I usually wore Swatch watches (I'm Swiss 🇨🇭), and other watches for special occasions. I wouldn't call myself a collector but I did own close to 100 Swatches at some point.
For the last 5 years or so, my only watch has been (and will remain) the Apple Watch, and instead of collecting Swatches in different colors to match my daily style, I collect watch bands 😁. For now, I'm not looking back - I really enjoy this mini-computer on my wrist.

I was torn when Apple Watch came out. I loved the quality of AW trying to mimic the quality of higher end mechanical watches, but having a daily Rolex Submariner I couldn’t justify a $700+ backup watch. ( I only owned a Submariner, no other watch. I had no desire to own another)

I bought an aluminum series 2 when it launched as my workout watch and it was great for that and a bedside clock, until Series 5. The AOD was the breaker. Since then my Rolex has been sold for a nice profit and am wearing a Titanium Series 5 natural. Its been a change but I enjoy the features. Will possibly be going for a Hermes model Series 7.

Haven’t worn my rolex since buying my Apple Watch. Sadly. have worn Cartier and Rolex watches fo years, and now my Rolex just sadly hasnt been worn. it just sits on a winder.
I feel your pain. 10 year Submariner wearer. My only solace is the “Count Up‘ face that resembles the Sub face. Lol

I sold most of my mechanical watches after buying the Apple Watch.
I have kept one handwind mechanical watch for occasions where AW would not fit but AW is so widely accepted nowadays that I think no one frowns upon wearing an AW with a suit. (I am not a high society member.)

And the mechanical watch has been only taken out of the drawer few times a year when I miss winding it.

(They are both made in China by coincidence.)

That looks like a good choice for a mechanical classic watch as an alternative to AW: something with elegant styling.
I have a Citizen watch which is packed with complications, but the styling IMO is terrible. So no reason to use it, in several years. (I think the styling of all Citizen watches is pretty poor, actually.)
But I think a minimalist elegant classic watch would be nice to have. Apple Watch does not qualify as elegant.
Nor does it qualify as a status symbol, if you are into that. ("Real" watch aficionados look down on AW with great disdain.)

I had a Casio smartwatch when I was eight (same year the original Macintosh launched) that could dial phones, keep track of calendars, deal with timezones and included a calculator.

In the last two decades I've worn mechanical watches exclusively, mostly Jaeger-LeCoultre and Rolex, but I am considering trying an Apple Watch this year. (Primarily to replace a Jawbone UP3, since it appears the servers are never coming back online.)

I wish there was some way to wear a classic watch and an Apple watch at the same time without feeling like a dork. :p

I have one on mine and you cannot see it...so keep shopping.

IF YOU CALL THAT WORKING. KEPT ALL THE CHARDS IN PLACE SO THERE'S THAT.

I’d say that’s fairly good evidence of a screen protector working.

I’d be interested in a photo and details if your screen protector.

This one is still usable whilst I wait for my next one to arrive today or tomorrow.
It’s hard to find good ones that can be delivered in a hurry where I am.
I’m still pretty happy with this despite it being a bit big and not pretty.

Behold, then the first horseman: it’s called the Sinn Dual Strap System.

Wow that is crazy. I bet there is a market for it though.

Op to your question, no I don't wear a mechanical watch anymore. One of the reasons I like the Apple Watch so much is I love its versatility. It can go from a sports watch to a dress watch in a matter of seconds.

Prior to getting a series 2 Apple Watch back in 2016 I didn't wear any type of watch and hadn't for YEARS. Since 2016, 2017 (with the series 3) and now with series 6 (2020) I wear my apple watch every day. No matter if I am going to work out, to work, or to hang with friends. I have different bands if I am going somewhere fancy or upscale though.
