Merge them so they will become a unified 5.0" instead and abandon the other 2 sizes. I know, I know, you will ask, "but what happens to the people who enjoy 4.7" and 5.5" iPhones?" Well, to them, I say Apple should just go and look at them and say "BWAHAHAH TOO BAD 4 U!"...and dat's it...so they're FORCED to abandon their 4.7" and 5.5" screen size preferences and have no choice but to buy the new "default" 5.0-inches.

What do u think? should Apple merge the 4.7" and 5.5" to make 1 iPhone 7 (and all future iPhones) at 5.0" inch?

This would help the people who feel bad about buying a 4.7" iPhone because they feel they're restricting themselves of "more" and the feeling of "maximum upgrade" or "highest end quality"...but then feel bad about buying the 5.5" because it looks ugly like a tablet and now alot less like a beautiful iPhone.

Getting rid of the 5.5" alone is not enough because the 4.7" still feels "gimped" like it feels like "it could have been even bigger"...but not 5.5" tablet big plz no...just need to stay beautiful iPhone size but at maximum upgrade...so 5.0" is good...I think IDK...

Thx 4 ur thoughts.
This is stupid. You're upset because people who CHOOSE to buy a smaller phone feel left out? Buy the bigger phone! Too big? Buy the smaller phone. If the available options are not good enough, buy an android. Quit bitching because you feel left out due to a choice you made.

If your logic was based on apples profits, I could at least respect your intelligent opinion, but this "everyone should be the same and equal" crap is just irritating.

Also, learn to use an ellipsis properly.

I don't know that I would abandon the platform if they did this, but I don't see the point. Reduce bezel size and you'll be heading in the right direction. There are phones barely physically bigger than the 6s with a screen size as big as the 6s plus. That's the direction I'd see them go.

No, decreasing bezel size is dangerous, why? because it'll make the iPhone look ugly or "not proportionate"...you see? it might make the iPhone feel "FAT" at the belly or gut area. I'm not willing to trade up proportionality for aesthetic for more "utility" or "screen size real estate"...if this is true that is...

This thread has nothing to do with politics.

!
To each his own. Phones with already smaller bezels don't look "fat at the belly" area to me, though you may be implying a different area of the phone as the "belly" than what I am looking at. If you take a look at some of the Samsung Galaxy devices (which are apparently dead knockoffs of the iPhone according to many around here) you'll see where I am coming from. You may still disagree, and that's fine. I don't think these phones look aesthetically displeasing at all though.

Regardless I buy my phones as a utility, not as a fashion accessory. I'm also not one to care whether the world knows I have the newest Apple device (in fact I'd rather they didn't considering I take public transportation semi frequently), but I know for s fact opinions differ on that.

I do think there should be a 5.0 size. 4.7 is still slightly small and 5.5 is too big for a lot of people.
Actually a 5.7" display has been very popular for several years. Samsung Galaxy Note models are 5.7" as is the Nexus 6P. The Note has millions and millions of loyal followers that are very happy with the size.

Witness the current crop of smartphones with 5.7, 6.0 and larger displays. More popular than ever, its about choices. :D

If they could learn something about screen size in relation to phone size (i.e. pretty much every Android phone today) then they would win be back on the larger phones.

Until that time, I'll gladly enjoy my SE and remember how non memorable my time was with the 6, 6+, 6S, and 6S+ phones for the times I had them. Lackluster battery killed it for me on the 6 and 6S. Size in regards to screen/body ratio turned me off severely on the Plus models. And I really gave them a solid try of over a few months each. Note 5 was my longest owned phone yet and next was my iPhone 5. And I have been around flagship devices since the OG Moto Droid.

Get with the times Apple. Figure this crap out. I think their thinness is what is causing them to have to maintain larger bezels since they run out of room to put things I guess. Or it's just Apple being lazy and resting on their laurels. I'm not asking for a bezel-less design (not a fan of the Samsung Edge phones) but c'mon the Plus is ridiculous in size and Android OEM's have been beating the 6/6S 4.7" screen to body ratio since approximately 2012...

Exactly. The Nexus 6 has a 6" screen and fits in a very similar body size (just a millimeter taller and wider) as the 6 Plus with a 5.5" display. Come on Apple, the bezels are killing us!

So Apple could missed opportunity to charge $100 extra for plus, not in a million years.

4.0" and 4.7" and 5.5" are all wrong choices. Well..maybe it'll go down to a knife fight between the 4.7" and the 5.0" actually...IDK how satisfied or how good a 5.0" iPhone will make me feel unless I hold 1 in my hand before I decide. Maybe 5.0" will still end up feeling ugly like a tablet like the 5.5"...maybe then 4.7" is the only right choice. Ahhh whatever...

Oh please, 4 inches is a favourite size for many. For me, anything over is too large, thus making it perfect.

People have different screen size preferences, and different sized iPhones cater for this - hate to burst your bubble!

No, they should keep the 3 sizes they have now and make the only difference be screen size and battery since there is more space for the battery in larger phones.

Worst of both worlds. The 4.7" is plenty big enough, if people want to carry a tablet all day they can buy the Plus (Pro?!)

As long as Apple keeps making versions of the 4" SE, I don't really care. It's my favorite by far.
