Do you personally have a 5S. I agree it is potentially easy to dismiss prior to using it 100 times a day.

Nope. Played with the Demo while at work yesterday. It's nice, but I don't have a pass code on my phone currently. I just feel like in a few years apple will increase the screen size and the space for a big home button will be limited. If they find a way around this I will applaud them.

Of course it's not easy to have vision of what the future will bring, but here me out.

The original iPhone brought about a rapid change to the world of smartphones. What seems like overnight Apple changed the game so that consumers not only expected touchscreens, but good fluid operating systems that easily worked. We can now see how big of a change the iPhone brought to the world of electronics.

Please stop using those PR phrases makes you sound like a parot.

It was the best product in the market at that time, but plenty others had released or were working on the same.

I'm curious though, now that the 5s brings finger-printing to the masses (who will now get accustomed to the convenience of it), will that also bring about another change to the game so that consumers will now expect their electronics to come with accurate/easy to use fingerprint scanners?
What convenience ? I dont lock my phone, as most people I know.

On the iPhone yes, though Apple did not invent finger scanners. Others can implement it on thier phones, time will tell .[COLOR="

Actually others cannot implement the same technology that the iPhone uses. Apple bought the company that invented the detection Tech on the new iPhone that works great. There are many ways to detect fingerprints that other can buy and use like we have seen in other phones and laptops, but the only one afaik that works as good and be cheap enough to mass produce is the tech that apple bought. So it might be a good while before someone can copy apple w good quality scanning; by that time I expect all apple products to have the tech and be even more refined.
