The lens cover is made of sapphire, not the lens itself.
That doesn't mean that it isn't prone to scratches.
Unless you are surrounded with diamonds.
Yes you're right. My bad.
Well it kind of does because it's really hard to scratch sapphire. Even if the Camera was flush it would be just as prone to scratches.
Your statement makes no sense.
The glass on the camera and the touchID are sapphire. That means again, unless you are surrounded with diamonds the sapphire glass won't scratch at all. Now the metal rings may scratch but not the glass.lol, no. the risk of having the camera lens being scratched is still a biggie, do you not remember the out cry there was with the protruding camera lens when the 6 came out?
Unless you cannot comprehend basic English, I can't see why my statement would make no sense. That is, unless, you can't find any reason to back up what you're saying.
I don't necessarily agree with you, however, it still doesn't change my opinion. I don't think that the camera should protrude, and Apple should keep the same thickness (hell, for all I care go a bit more) for better battery life and a flush lens. The glass on the camera and the touchID are sapphire. Well I'm right about sapphire first of all. Go do your research. So no harm there. Next, you are free not to buy their products... Apple does not care what you think about their devices. They will always bring out a product that fanatics will buy.I don't necessarily agree with you, however, it still doesn't change my opinion. Sorry if I came across rude, no harm meant!

I have a masters in English. Thanks
All I'm saying is that whether its protruding or not, it still has the same likelihood of getting scratched. A protruding camera doesn't automatically mean it's gonna get scratched easier. The same surface area (the lens cover) is exposed either way.
Therefore the statement makes no sense.
... the camera lens is made out of sapphire and difficult to scratch.
Tell that to Apple Watch users who have scratched their sapphire display.Unless you are surrounded with diamonds.

People hate it on Android's too, especially since most of those are using plastic or regular glass so they scratch easily.I really don't understand why people are so up in arms about the camera lens. It is not out that much. The camera on the note 5 or s6 is prominent protruding lens.
At least iphone lays flat when it is on the table.
Please the law of physics doesn't lie... Sapphire is second only to diamonds.Tell that to Apple Watch users who have scratched their sapphire display.
Yes sapphire is the second strongest material, however it is not "scratch proof" only to diamond, merely just scratch resistant. Sure you can take a key and not scratch it, but rub it against concrete or a brick wall and tell me how "scratch proof" it is. Take a read here on this watch forum: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/sap...how-tell-if-its-actually-sapphire-360340.htmlPlease the law of physics doesn't lie... Sapphire is second only to diamonds.

Obviously you've never had your phone around sand.
"You think you mohs, but you have no idea."
May I humbly suggest that if you flout your English credentials, you do a better job of proofreading? lulz.

I've yet to see one shred of evidence on these forums which would lead me to assume you're smart enough for anything. The quoted post above included.Obviously I'm Smart enough not to have it around sand.
Obviously don't care cuz I'm not scratching my phone, y'all areI've yet to see one shred of evidence on these forums which would lead me to assume you're smart enough for anything. The quoted post above included.
You've obviously never lived/worked near the coast/beach.
Who can't tell? Cause I most certainly can. I love my iPhone 6, but the design is nowhere near previous models. The protruding camera, the antenna lines, the slip-out-of-your-hand finish... These are not huge deals, but they are disappointing steps backwards considering apple's supposed obsession with perfection.Sorry but on the 6/6s it's so minimal that when the phone is laying flat you can't even tell.
I never understood how this was an issue.
