Yes. I remember when the first generation iPad launched in the US only my dad brought one home to the UK and it worked fine with a UK Apple account. I don’t see why this would be any different, there’s no point in geolocking the device.

We will not know until launch but there will no doubt be plenty of overseas people getting one to try this.

Apple is going to want to sell you it for $3500 UK pounds and see you as trying to steal from them by buying it from the US.

I’m going to order from the UK. Get it sent to an address in the US, and sent here. In the UK this will be £4k easily when it eventually goes on sale. But it’s not price, I just can’t wait to try it out.

Guess all you would need is a US apple account and store account via VPN.

store account via VPN.
You don't even need VPN. You can access Apple US store anywhere in the world. You just have to register for one (also VPN not needed. Only US phone number & address needed. You can easily Google for it)

Look for Delaware-based freight forwarder company that can receive your US item that then sends it to your UK address.

And a US credit card (I think you use to use iTunes/Apple gift cards without a US credit card - but now I think before it will even use the gift card it has to be associated with a US credit card first - even if you change it to none later).

Just start with buying a free app and you won’t need US CC at all. That's what I did. I’m sure there is a tutorial somewhere.

the only issue I see is that maybe you need to go in store to have the correct ‘fitting’.
Right. Ordering from oversea will be a challenge. I can see many (rich) people buying it while visiting US though.

I really don't think Apple would release a new product and restrict it to just USA.
It is different from iTunes where content has geo restrictions for film/tv releases due to licensing from studios.

Do we know the answer to this yet? Not that it matters now, but still curious.

From what I've read here and elsewhere, people in other countries are successfully the AVP, though I don't know the details. However, as you note, it's a moot point now with the AVP going on sale outside the U.S. soon.

Yes, I did it. I used a US linked Apple ID to download the apps I wanted and OS update, then logged in with my usual UK ID for all the iCloud stuff linked to me like email, calendar etc.
There's no problem going backwards and forwards between the 2 if I want to go and get updates or more apps (even paid ones using a gift card linked to my US account)
Things like Disney + and Prime video dont care, and I use my UK accounts on the apps I downloaded with no problem.
I dont use Apple TV, but I wouldn't expect that to work until the UK services go live next month.
