I had my 2.4 in a Marware Neoprene sleeve. No case or skin so it was for the most part naked. Only got a scratch on it when some dumb ass at the Detroit Airport told me to take it out of the sleeve and it scratched when i set it in one of those damn buckets.

Other than that... A ding here and there due to my over excitement from completing a project and accidentally kicking it (not hard) but mind you my excitement ended as soon as i looked to see the dent by the express slot and right near where the latch button is :(

*Note to self, when excited step away from the Macbook Pro!*

For a carrying bag that I travel with on planes, my motorcycle, bicycle, daily travels, I have a Crumpler Customary Barge Backpack. Has a 17" padded (and I mean padded) laptop sleeve with a front sleeve where i put my 6x8 wacom tablet, and some room to fit my 6x9 sketch pad and my classic Franklin. In the front zipper it holds my DSLR with 2 lenses, my external hard drive, and some cables. Looks like a normal backpack, and the padding on the back is extremely comfy.

My MacBook Pro has a really scratched up area on the bottom from when I carried it without a case and it brushed up against the clip for my ID badge. It bothered me a little bit at first but it's on the bottom, so it doesn't really matter much.

Now I keep it in my Samsonite bag (which was designed to hold a laptop) so no worries about that anymore.

Go to www.sfbags.com and check out their sleeves. I have used them on all of my laptops and their quality can not be beat. Gary with sf bags is the best!

Great outfit. I use the suede sleeve for transport. I also use a Radtech screen saver:
http://www.radtech.us/Products/NotebookScreensavrz.aspx

A screen saver is a soft cloth that sits between the keyboard and screen when the laptop is closed. It keeps the keys from scratching the display. Normally the keys don't touch the display, but in a bag the laptop can be squeezed and cause this to happen. Nothing bad happens right away but over the years the display can get scratched. In addition to keeping the screen protected this is a nice optical cloth for wiping the screen when it gets dusty or acquires finger prints (quel horreur!). My current 17" is almost four years old and the screen is still pristine.

Sleeve on a black macbook for 3 years and no scratches. Naked around the house with a ton of smudge marks though. I have to clean that thing everyday:D

I just told someone in a thread about the Radtech screen SaveRz cloth. Been using one since I first got my early 2008. Time to get a new one for my 2.66!

Glad to see someone else uses one!

has anyone used a neogreene sleeve? i just purchased a case logic sleeve and the neoprene smell is strong and not pleasant!

Ive got the spec hardcase for my mbp. I only put it on when i know I will be traveling alot. Its a good place to put all the stickers that I dont want to put directly on the mbp too.

I've ordered myself a Ion-Factory carbon shell and just got an Crumpler shoulder laptop bag to separate my laptop with all other things ... hope that is enough protection for me to carry my MBP around

Naked, have been suing them naked for two years, like a previous poster said unless you are resting on concrete or sandpaper it is fine.

after buying a new MBP i will most likely be using a cardboard box, but currently i often use it fully dressed. My wife would frown if she saw me using it naked ... really.

had a G4 naked with no problems --- did treat it like a treasure though.
got a uMBP and bought a black speck hard case --- love it! little thicker but I live knowing I do not have to worry.:)

I use an invisibleSHIELD which works perfectly. When I take it around I use a incase bag.

Mine is covered with a whole body skin from BestSkinsEver and therefore should stay looking new forever.
