do NOT get Zagg, crap product and looks like ***** on the phone. Overpriced junk!!

If you dont mind waiting a while get some SGP Steinheil from aliexpress.com, wholesalers sell them for a fraction of the price (they are from china). Either that or get some on eBay.

Powersupport may be good, but they are WAY overpriced. You can get the equivalent on eBay for much cheaper...(i have used both).

Yes, Steinheil oleophobic front, cheap eBay static cling type on the back.

Are they necessary? Up to you. All I know is my wife's 3GS screen looked pretty beat up from a drop, I thought for sure the glass was chipped in a couple spots and expected to need to replace the front glass. When I pulled off the screen protector last night to inspect it, I was surprised that the glass is as good as new. Applied a new protector and gave the 3GS to my son to start using.

I'm sold. A good crystal style protector takes away nothing from the usability and gives protection from scratches or dings to the glass or coatings.

Power support crystal. You wouldn't be able to see it if it wasn't for the cutouts for home button/speaker.

I just put a Powersupport screen protector on last night. This is the first time I've used that brand; in the past I've tried various ones and I've never had a complaint about any of them.

For me, a screen protector is important. My iPhone gets thrown in my purse every day, and I don't want to risk it getting scratched if my keys bump up against it by accident. I also prefer the matte look; yes, I know it dulls down the retina display a little, but to me, it's still easier to look at than the super shiny glass screen. Just my personal preference.

This thread really should have a poll. On topic, no I don't have a screen protector on it and I never will. It is either in my hand, pocket, dock, or laying on a piece of cloth. I have never scratched a screen on any device and I hope I never will.

Zagg in the back and Power Support in the front. I've used the cheap eBay stuff in the past it Power Support resist scratches much better and feels slicker when clean. I also use a bumper and the combo of the three has kept my phone pristine.

I ordered a couple sets of Power Support based on this thread, too bad it's sold at the moment on their website :(

Crystal screen protectors end up smudging WAY more than the naked screen, and really aren't useful. Small scratches don't really bother me, because you can only see them in direct sunlight at certain angles.

I used to use a PS anti-glare on all of my other iPhones. When the 4 came out, I realized how it really degraded the quality of the screen. Not planning on putting one on the 4S either.

Going naked seems to work best for me.

How hard is it to apply them after a few days of use? I regret opening mine now before the overlays arrived! :p

I'm naked at the moment. Bought the 4S yesterday and the apple store only had the PS anti glare fronts in stock and said they stopped carrying crystal clear a yr ago. I've had PS crystal clear on all my iPhones and loved it.

Where are you guys getting the PS crystal front and back?

I use the Seidio screen protector and I really like it. Installation is easy, you can't tell it's on and the screen's sensitivity remains unchanged.

I've never used a screen protector on any of my phones, and I have never had any issues.

I've never understood why people buy the slimmest, sexiest phones and then put big, ugly cases on them and use screen protectors that get greasy or make the screen look dim.

Power Support anti-glare on the front, still have Apple plastic on the back till I get a rear protector.

That's exactly what I'm doing, reason is the case I used scratched the back a little bit, so I now use protectors for both ends of the phone.

Wondering though, for anyone using screen protectors (front, back or both) are you using cases as well? Know of any that would fit well even with these protectors on?

I use Wrapsol (dry) from the front and back and also the antenna band. I don't like cases, except for the bumpers but my iPhone 4 antenna got scratched to hell from the bumpers. This is the best solution for me.

Agreed, thats why I don't use cr@ppy screen protectors. With a good one there's no discernable difference (that I could tell); but there's also a lot of junk out there. The InvisibleShields are the worst for screens, I'd use the phone naked if that was my only choice for the front.

Case wise, all depends on your usage. I use something like an Incipio Feather most of the time. Keeps the thin profile, provides a little bit of protection from scuffs in the event of a fall. My Incase Snap took the damage on an iphone4 pavement hit. If you NEVER ever ever drop your phone or set it on a rough surface, go naked. Unless you have toddlers. They'll destroy anything. http://www.shitmykidsruined.com/2010/08/28/lulu-versus-iphon/

I don't have anything on mine. I got AC+, so I figure after I break it once and get a new one, then it's time for protection lol

It's really quite funny to look at this, not interpreting the first sentence as "Your phone is not protected right now". I knew what you meant of course, but try looking at this, thinking the first sentence is literally just, off topic, stating that he/she is naked, without laughing. Go ahead. I dare you.

6 sets for $2 eBay specials here. And I never even make it past 1 set. On my 4 I had an eBay one on there for over a year with never any need to change/replace it.

I still had several sets leftover for my 4S and so I immediately put them on after removing the stock ones.

Spending $15-$30 on these name brand screen protectors is a total waste of money IMO. But more power to you guys that do

I use to buy the sgp ones for like 25 now I buy 6 for like 1.50 on amazon and they look just as good

This.

I had a screen protector on my iPhone-3G but haven't since then. My 3GS, 4, and now 4S, don't have a screen protector. I prefer the feel and look of a bare screen. I love that raw feeling of nothing coming between the tip of my finger and my phone's screen. (and, no, no scratches on any of my phones)

I do, however, have a Belkin Grip Vue on my 4S. It's clear and it looks pretty awesome on the white model, without adding any girth to the phone itself.
