There was one time I had no screen protector after taking off my old one (scratched/chewed by the cat) and I dropped my phone from less than a foot and the front screen cracked. Never had my screen cracked before in all the iPhones I have had, was lucky the apple store took it back without charging for a replacement but will always use screen protectors.

your saying that screen would have not cracked with a SP on? I thought it's only to prevent it from scratches. Glad they replaced it though. Some of my friends have not been so unfortunate trying to get their screens replaced.

I agree, you don't need one on the 4.

It's like a love hate thing with me. I know I don't "need" the protector yet I love it when it's on. Yet I love it when it's off too!! I'm talking about the PS anti glare HD.

wow im in the same mess, i spent way to much money on skins and screen shields. I can kick my self in the butt for that and im embarrassed to say how much but in the end im going to run with just a bumper or incase snap and be done with the screen shields. We only live once so might as well enjoy the beauty of the screen while we can.

Those of you that do not use a screen shield, what case are you using if any ?

My girlfriend needs one as she tends to drop her phone or throw it in a purse with keys etc.

I keep mine in my pocket or in a case, so no protector for me. The screen looks and feels better without one, and there's simply no denying that.

I use Best Skins Ever on the front and Invisible Shield on the back with a Incase Snap case.

On my last phone (non-iPhone), I had a screen protector and absolutely hated it. I've really been considering a screen protector for my iPhone but like so many of you have mentioned, the glass is amazing! Already I have to cover up the sleek size with a hard case, I feel like something to hamper the usability would put me over the edge. Then again, if something did happen...

Been debating on rippin my power support anti glare off for a little bit. Miss that screen again. Yet I know after a day or two I'm going to want the anti glare back on. I just really enjoy how it Denies finger prints so much.

I got my ipod naked. Now the screen is still shiny as it was used to be. But back side really sucks and terrible scratched (sorry, I think it might be the same thing with iPhone) :D

I love the clarity without. Yet I still use the power support anti glare HD for my 4. I just like how it feels and the matte finish looks sharp. I also mainly like the fact that I'm no longer constantly wiping my phone done with a microfiber cloth.

+1

The lack of fingerprints on the screen with a antiglare foile is just worth the money. Though after one year I eventually have to change mine as the "fat-absorbing capacity" looks like done. Have on both iPhone and iPad

Hey TheOriginalKi do you use any case with your phone ?

Wow the phone is amazing with out a screen shield, i just have a bumper and rear skin on my phone and its doing pretty well, and its funny my wife has a clear screen and i have none and you can still see the difference with a crystal on.

I can't understand why they can cost so much? Over 15.00 for 1 protector is rediculous when you can replace the glass back for 20.

Not many people are concerned about the back. To replace the front screen it costs $199 from Apple.

I don't feel like getting a shield, been considering getting invisible shield from zagg, but I decided not to because it makes the screen feel funny!

When I first got my iphone, I bought the Steinheil Ultra Crystal film produced by SGP. I have been using it since then I still have the second piece left from the package I purchased. I guess really it's a matter of how you use your phone and personal preference.

It is funny that I see this thread today. I just decided to take the shield off my 4 this morning. Have had it on since day one. The screen just looks and feels so much better w/o a cover. :D

I use a Speck Candyshell. The case has a little damage from a couple of drops, but the iPhone itself is still perfect.

I use the Power Support Crystal screen protector, very easy to install, fits perfectly and you can't even tell there is a screen protector on it.

$15 well spent.

I use a screen protector simply because all it takes is one fall at the wrong angle on the wrong surface to ruin your day.
