At the moment I'm not using a screen protector. I usually end up taking them off for various reasons. I'll probably buy some more soon though.

I use a screen protector simply because all it takes is one fall at the wrong angle on the wrong surface to ruin your day.

Lol... A screen protector isn't going to protect your screen from drops.

i am still getting around to getting a front and back anti fingerprint but haven't gotten to it yet but right now i use a casemate screen shield for the front and then on the back i have the plastic from when i originally got the phone :apple:

When I first got my iphone, I bought the Steinheil Ultra Crystal film produced by SGP. I have been using it since then I still have the second piece left from the package I purchased. I guess really it's a matter of how you use your phone and personal preference.

I heard good reviews about their products. I'm actually trying out their new Ultra Optics Steinheil films right now, and it's quite unbelievably so much better than their Anti-fingerprint.

I've got an invisible shield as of right now but the back piece is peeling at the edge again. This will be the 3rd time I have to have it installed since I bought the verizon iphone. I'm having it installed at a Zagg place in the mall so I know it's being done right. This is the first time I've had any issues with it.

I'm tempted just to pull it, throw a bumper on it and be done with it but I am terrified that I will scratch it but at the same time I can't keep paying for them to reinstall the Zagg and I don't think I can do it myself.

For those of you who have gone naked since day 1, how has the phone held up to scratches?

I went without one for two months. Scratches started showing up immediately. This is coming from a person that is very OCD about his electronics, so, It isn't worth it. Keep it on.

I had one on my 3G when I ran over it with a car. It was sitting on my lap when I test drove an Audi, when I was an Audi tech. It was screen down and the protector had quite a few marks from the gravel. I removed it and used the phone for a year after that with no protector in the same pocket I carry keys. I drop it from waist height quite a bit also. I gave it to my 9 year old son, scratch free, when I got my iPhone 4.

I do have a matte protector on my 4.

I have a Moshi Monde iVisor one but it's matte and I don't really like it. You can tell the loss in quality... I'm thinking of taking it off and just using it while camping, doing really outdoorsy stuff. I do like that if my hands are slightly wet I don't need to worry.

But if I have Apple Care, won't they replace the screen if it breaks??

Update: I decided today to pull the plug on my ZAGG. The back was peeling around the edges (no other case other than Zagg) and the front was peeling just below the home button. Went to the apple store and bought me an incase snap case and Power Support HD Anti-Glare. I'm really loving the PS over the Zagg I had. Much smoother surface and even though the orange peel didn't really bother me I can really tell now that it's not there! Think I'll stay with this combo for awhile.

I have never used a screen protector and never had a scratch... and I often shove my phone in my pocket with keys and coins (although I try to avoid this when I remember).

I know other people will have had different experiences and I guess the answer for you will depend on how you handle your phone.

My story too!

Me as well. I had a matte screen protector on for the longest time as does my wife on her iPhone 4. It wasn't till I was in line for the release of the iPad 2 and saw the screen on the iPhone 4 of one of the peope standing with me in line. It was like seeing HD TV for the first time. I was thinking to my self how wonderful that screen looked compared to mine. Took it off and have never regretted it. I do still have a clear, non matte protector on the BACK though. ;)

It's like a love hate thing with me. I know I don't "need" the protector yet I love it when it's on. Yet I love it when it's off too!! I'm talking about the PS anti glare HD.

Same here with me. I love the feel of no screen protector, but I hate how the natural oleophobic coating will wear off :( Right now, I'm going naked iPhone 4 though.

Power support anti glare HD, I have been using that for all my iphones and I love them, they are easy to install and I install them right after I peel off the factory stickers and before I touch the screen, no bubbles no issues if you are careful. I will never use another brand.

I've had my iPhone since February. Not a day with a screen protector on, and no scratches on the phone. I am very particular about my devices, though.

When I got my phone replaced for a faulty home button on Saturday I got my very first Zagg IS installed outside the store and I LOVE it!

I've been using my iphones for like three years now naked. No screen or other protector, and never had any kind of scretch on the phone. I just take good care of it. Although i use a leather sleeve on daily basis, so... These new Gorilla Glass screens are very though, they just simpley do not scratch that easily...

I've never used one, at least not more than for a few days. I can't stand the non glass ones, as they look and feel cheap. The tempered glass ones are ok, but if they don't affix perfectly, you can get a bubble or something near the edges and that drives me nuts.

As such, I've rocked every iPhone naked on the screen and have never had a problem. My 4 got two very small scratches towards the end, but other than that, my screens have stayed nice and clear. No issues with scratches.

Actually it can. I had two drops with different phones and glass screen protectors. On both occasions the edge of the protector took the brunt of the impact and shattered but kept the screens intact.

I have never used a screen protector in all my years of owning a smart phones and aside from the scratches I have to look for in proper light, which will happen 100% of the time, I never had issues with major screen scratches or screen cracks.

That being said, I actually am considering getting one for this phone. I went from the iPhone 4S to the 6S+, I like the size but I can see why these bigger phones are more prone to drops/scratches. I also have two friends who have both dropped their phones at different instances and their tempered glass screen cracks while their original screen went unscathed.

I have always used screen protectors going back to the original iPhone. Usually, if I get it installed correctly, I can leave it on without replacement for a long time - sometimes even the life of the phone. I've had some get fairly scratched up, but my screen has never been damaged - it's always been pristine - so I'm glad the protector took the scratches instead.

I might be an oddity here, but I don't mind a good quality PET plastic protector and I feel like glass is somewhat a fad. My previous PowerSupport and SGP plastic protectors lasted a long time, without peeling or getting too scratched up. I jumped on the glass bandwagon last year, and tried a Mime feather tempered protector with a good following. I had to change my case from a Tech21 case I loved to a much less protective Spigen case so the sides wouldn't peel up. While it felt marginally better to the touch, and may have been easier to clean oil off of, it cracked on the edge within five months. The phone was not dropped. I had a hard time removing it, cutting myself in the process, and even though it was tempered, the screen was scratched a bit at the crack site from the broken glass. I would be very reluctant to go with glass again, because I feel like they are less likely to work with cases due to thickness, likely to crack and have a much higher chance of scratching the screen in the process. I honestly don't mind the tactile feel of the SGP Crystal I have on my phone now. It looks good, hasn't scratched in the 9 months I've had it on, doesn't peel, and I can use a much greater variety of cases with it. I also am not a fan of the wet install screen protectors that use their own adhesive. These are a pain to install, remove, and I always worry the adhesive is going to rip away the coating of the actual screen.

My observations are based on iPhone 5 series and older, and I know the 6 Series is a different beast entirely due to the curved screen. It's my understanding that many, if not most, screen protectors, plastic or glass, have either peeling problems due to the curve or are cut way too small in order to avoid it. It's a shame.

I'm looking to upgrade to a 6S, and am looking for a good protector. It seems like PowerSupport has all but vanished from the US market, and the Spigen SGP Crystals are cut so small they don't even cover the display area of the screen completely. I'm not especially keen on having the screen protector not be edge to edge on the 6 like it is on my 5' - with the sides of the screen open to scratches, dirt/oil collecting along the lip, and having my fingers run over the seam edge when using the phone - but I certainly don't want the edge to be over the viewable area of the screen (like pictures show the SGP on Amazon reviews). I also don't like that Spigen is paying customers to give it good reviews on Amazon.

So, does anyone have any recommendations or first hand experience with a good screen protector for the 6S? Preferably plastic PET static cling. I see a lot of posts on here for glass, but hardly anything for plastic that's relatively current. I will probably go with either the Apple leather or a Tech 21 case. Thanks!

I am using a Gorilla Glas Foil on the Front and a Leather Case on the back of my iPhone, so its perfectly protected :)
you can hammer on the glas, but thanks to the Foil there is no scratch on the screen...
