After my last iphone kept getting scuffed on the chamfered edges, I decided to purchase a case for it. Because I prefer the naked feel of the iPhone, I went looking for the thinnest possible case that could still provide good protection. This lead me to the Caudabe Veil case. It's super thin and lightweight that still provides an edge to edge swiping experience; something I hate about most other cases that have raised edges.

Is the finish on that matte like it appears? I just got a clear but shiny super thin case today and it doesn't get along with the ghost armor, it kinda gets stuck to it and then yanks it off. I'm using a Speck Candyshell I also just got in the mail in the mean time.

I have a white Bodyglove on my black 4S. Previously I had it in a Sena pouch but couldn't hear it ring even with the volume all the way up and it was a pain to answer because I had to get it out of the pouch everyti me I wanted to use it.

Yes. These devices are expensive miniature computers. I don't transport my notebook computer without a case, so likewise I don't transport my iPhone without a case.

I use a slightly modified Incipio Frequency on my 5. Belkin anti glare film on the display.

While I rarely drop mobile phones, accidents can happen, and sometimes cannot be avoided. The most likely accident for me is dropping the phone on a hard surface like a parking lot or tile floor, so I use a case that will deform and spread impact energy.

I've had cases before, but am currently just using a Spigen Linear EX Slim Metal bumper with screen protector. It gives just a little bit more grip on the edges.

I use a bumper case I got for 10 dollars on Amazon.com with screen protector on front and backside of the phone. All I can say is its a match made in Heaven. My phone still feels thin and light. And I can still see the beautiful back of my phone. And the phone is basically fully protected from scratches and alot of drops unless you get very unlucky and the phone falls flat on a sharp edge rock or medal. I love my look of my phone

I never used a case for any of my iPhones and I prefer the look/feel of it without one. Using cases like the Ottorbox and other bulky cases defeats the purpose of Apple's marketing of the iPhone 5 being thinner and lighter IMO

Damn these sausagey fingers!

I always have a case but can hate it at times. For my iPhone 5 the solution has been a slim belkin case found at a Verizon retailer. Also, I use screen protectors. Bodygaurdz has awesome glass screen protectors. Glass. That's right, won't do a thing to protect from dropping but any case I use has the potential to peel the plastic screen protector or the bubble look.

All in all, I would say this has been my fav combo even tho I do wish I could be more careful.

I have a Ringke Slim case. It wraps the edges and leaves top and bottom exposed. Really thin and hardly noticeable. I tend to not drop my phone, it's more during those situations where I foolishly swing my arms in a hurry and swipe a wall or something. I'm kinda glad the case took the skidding rather the phone.

Yes, it is matte just like it appears but ever so slightly translucent.

Totally understand you. I ended up getting stickers from sticker boy. It still shows some scuffs, but at least it will not drop substantially the resale value

Anyway i want to hear from you all, whether you use a case or not, and whether resale value has had any part in your decision making.
No and no. That said, do what works for you. Polling on matters of preference is pointless. What's popular != what's best suited to the individual.

If you just want a collection of opinions then there are plenty of case versus naked threads that you can refer to instead of continually beating on this dead horse.

Never have, never will, I also get phones every two years and don't flip them, so "resale" conditions don't matter to me.

I'm not a huge case fan since I never used them on the 2G, 3G and 3GS models I had. However, beginning with the 4, I started using them. I have a Spigen Thin Air case, since I prefer a minimalist case on phone over the other bulky cases.

A brown leather Snugg case for me! allows me to keep the phone protected whilst in my pocket, but completely naked when in use.

My black iphone 5 was a mess after just a few weeks without a case! I've had a white for a week and this time have kept it in a thin black see through case. But I've took it off a couple of times and always suprises how much nicer it feels. So I'm sure the case will be in the bin in a couple of weeks and lll have a scratched iphone a couple of weeks later!

Do you use an iPhone Case?

I actually found the 5 just a bit too thin for me to grip comfortably. Putting a thin profile Incipio Frequency case makes it just about perfect for my hands.

I wouldn't have minded a slightly thicker phone with larger battery.
