Don't know if anyone's reading this thread anymore, but I think it'd be good if the dock was set up so if you had minor magnification turned on, the icons would all stay where they are horizontally, but the one you were hovering over zoomed *out* of the dock, towards you. I've got it turned off, because although I like the effect of a little magnification, I can't stand the horizontal shifting. It'd be good if the magnification was independent of the horizontal axis.tag said:I've always had magnification on, but not huge magnification or anything, just a bit bigger than the dock itself. It's so neat looking and it really doesn't bother me a bit. I guess when I think about it, it was one of the first things I really noticed when playing with a Mac back when I was a Windows user, I just thought the dock was so cool with its magnification. 😀

There's enough of a gap between the icons to tolerate quite a bit of magnification on the one you're hovering over without covering up the ones on each side. Though I don't think it'd be that big a deal even if it did cover up the ones on each side - to an extent.Bobarito said:Good call.
Funny, I posted above that I use magnification, but after a lot of you said you do not, I gave it a try. I don't see my self switching back soon...

Hide dock, gives me more real estate.
Smallest dock, ditto
Full magnification, lets me see exactly what I am clicking on when hiding.
