Nope, never. Why? Because I'm a college student and can't afford to subscribe to anything.

I hate that some of those are called "free," but then require you to pay for a subscription. If you're free, say free. If not, don't say free.

As far as I know, there is no completely free subscription in the app store.

I've always used it. I get Wired, MacLife, PC Gamer, GQ & Details subs via the newsstand & donate my paper copies to the library.

No, because I use Zinio instead. It's a great company. Not only is is cross platform and works on my Mac, iPhone, and Android devices, they also have great prices, give out free samples, give out perks when you buy subscriptions, give you gazillions of coupons to use, have specials, and have EXCELLENT customer service. I at least have put $100 into them since I got my iPhone 4 too.

And I highly recommend them over Newsstand for that reason. And the best part is that it's not interactive, so it's more worth it because you get the real deal. You can also print the pages from the Reader too, heh.

The internet replaced all my magazine reading about 12 years ago. I don't see why I should read stuff (news, reviews, whatever) 3 months late for money when I can read it instantly for free.

If you're jailbroken, get the free tweak called NoNewsIsGoodNews in the Cydia store. Once it is installed, it hides the Newsstand icon.
