To be honest....i use Siri whenever i remember it is there....

I wish Siri was voice activated without having to touch my iphone. I would use Siri a LOT more that way.....

I use Siri a lot while driving, to listen to text messages received and dictate responses or to check traffic conditions. I'll also occasionally use it around the house to do a quick lookup, especially when I don't have the hands free or the time to type a full question because I'm in the middle of something (that likely could use that answer).

My most common Siri commands are:

  • "Traffic"
  • "Weather"
  • "Read texts"
  • "Reply"
  • "Message <name>"
  • "Play [artist|genre] <name>"

Where does Siri get its traffic info from? Is it accurate?

I use it mostly to change the music I'm listening to in the car on the streaming Bluetooth from the phone. I can just hold the button, say to play "playlist XXXX" or "album XXXX", and it works correctly about 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time it may play the right artist but shuffle the music instead of the Playlist I asked for, or ask if she should look it up on the web for me...

Whatever Maps uses, which I assume is some combination of crowd-sourced data plus whatever data can be gleaned from local transportation departments (for example, in the DC area, I see road closures, accident info, etc., as reported from VDOT. On the whole it seems fairly accurate, but it obviously will be a little slow to report on something that just happened.

I've also used in on long trips to see if a traffic jam I'm approaching is short or worth the effort of finding a back road to bypass it, and it tends to be pretty spot-on with how far ahead I need to go to clear the problem.

I expect experience will vary based on the part of the country (or world) you're in.

You don't have a "not much" button. Which would be my choice. "Sometimes" seems to imply more frequently than I actually do use it.

I have disabled Siri because I am tired of it not working as intended very often.

It's really a hit and miss for me. Sometimes it doesn't understand me, sometimes it says it cannot answer my request and I should try again later, and sometimes it works.
When it works, it is so limited that is really totally useless for me.
I would like to use Siri to create a Calendar appointment and save it to a specific calendar, that is not the default one..Not possible.
I would like to create Tasks on different lists...Not possible

I would like that Siri understands and responds to natural language, without limitations.
Offline Siri is also very important, but Siri is unfortunately available only when connected...

I love siri.

I place my phone on the dash mount and use for navigating, sports and music. She can switch i tunes radio etc.

Oh and also the math comes in handy since thats with what i struggle in college :/

Would love too, but often times Siri does not understand my commands or just doesn't work.

I have my home and work address under my details.

If I tell siri to give me directions home...it understands, but if I ask siri to do the same for work... I get "I'm sorry, I do not have that information"

Every now and then (but mostly just the dictation function) if I remember to. Sometimes for making calls, assembling a quick message, looking up something, setting or turning off alarms, or if I am bored and just want to play around with it. :p

Weather
Google search
Settings alarms, appointments and reminders
Time in other countries
Movie times and ratings
General trivia like "who stars in [insert movie here]"
And I've recently started using it to read my notifications, since I get a lot of tweets show up in notification center during the day.

Siri has grown a lot since it started, and the potential for the future is huge. I would love to see it go always-on like the moto x does with google now, but we're gonna need some serious battery & software enhancements before that becomes possible without losing usage time between charges.

If I do use SIRI it's only when I'm driving. I enjoying being able to hear an incoming text and sending a text without looking down. It's a huge advantage for those who drive often during work hours.

I have used it for hands-free navigation and basic questions. Before the Packers-49ers game my brother asked me what the point spread was. I said I did not know and he said, you have that fancy phone, find out. I asked Siri and was surprised to get an immediate answer. Not sure why I was surprised, I just was.;)

I think it is a gimmick so no. Why would I ask it to do something when it'd be faster to just do it myself?

Do... you... talk... really... slow?

Alarms, timers, reminders, looking up addresses, movie times, upcoming matches, current scores, image searches... all can be done quicker with Siri.

No. But I know how to use iOS effectively enough to get things done without the help of an assistant.

I use Siri a lot...mainly for making phone calls so I don't have to search through like a billion contacts just to find one...or I ask long math problems like (1445/5742.74)x123(1959.4)

When I first got my 5s I used it a little.
But lately Siri does not understand me when I try to send SMS via it. I even said my personal assistant is stupid and it butchered it up.

I've noticed that Siri makes the same mistakes as a real person does. For example, If I'm speaking on the phone to a person and I tell them my last name… they always say/spell it wrong. Siri does the same thing. With Siri you can teach her how to say the name correctly. Also, in Address book you can give your Contacts a "nickname".. So that Siri can locate them faster. For example "John Doe" nickname is "Jay Bird" or "JD".

Siri reminds me of that feature in OSX that's been around since 2004. I think APple called it Speak? You could ask a question or ask to open an Application.

I use Siri a lot especially when I'm in the car. I made up nicknames for my friends which is fun when calling them. i.e. "dial my hooker on the curb". "call my trick in the honda" lol

I use it regularly for setting location based reminders when I'm out and about. For example "remind me to pay the cable bill when I get home". It's very handy.

I have an iPhone 4 so I can't use Siri on my phone but always wish I could. I love using Siri on my iPad but all my friend that have Siri on there phones they say they never use Siri.

Whoa wait a minute siri on iPad?

----------

I use it sometimes. The reason for that is because I forget that I have Siri.
