I feel Skype's audio > iChat's. But iChat's video quality is better. But seeing as the video doesn't make me feel as "connected" as the audio, I find myself using Skype more so than iChat for the better audio. Plus, if I'm on iChat, people will IM and that's obnoxious. Don't have that problem so much w/ Skype. :p
But can you use iChat to call someone else who has a PC?

Used to use Skype for international calls until I switched to Shaw Digital Phone for my landline. I get 4cents/minute anywhere in the world as long as I'm calling a landline. Prior to that it was great, Sound quality was excellent most days.

I use skype to call my girlfriend, everyday when I'm at uni

but it takes about 5-10 minutes to load up? i have a SR 2.2 macbook, i don't run a lot on there when i'm using skype...this happen to anyone else?
On XP my girlfriends Skype is up and running in 30 seconds, and her laptop is a piece of crap

other than that the picture and audio quality is good (providing the other person has a good webcam/microphone)
Only downside is sometimes the calls lag or the program crashes for no reason (and then i have to spend 5-10 minutes waiting for it to load)

Skype = recommended
