yes I do..it's nice having my music and phone in one....when I work out or jog or wash my car I don't have to carry 2 devices so thats nice.....but I still use my 2 ipod classics one in my house just for my home stereo and the other stays in my car I at least 40gb's of music on both so there is no way I can get rid of those iphone is just to small

30gb ipod for music and video...iphone for the rest...I carry both...actually never thought I would, but it's more convenient for me

I use it every day as an iPod

I use it in my car going to work or anywhere really in the car

I laugh too as I remember telling people when I bought it that I didnt want to use it as an iPod :D

I have a very weird situation. Before I got the iPhone 3g. I had my iPod Touch, and iPod Classic/Video.

So i would take the iPod touch everywhere, it was used as my PDA basicly. Only when on long car rides would i bring my iPod classic or when wanting a specific album i know i had on it.

Since getting the iPhone. The iPod Touch has been demoted haha. Its now my SOLE sleeping iPod. I use it for that because i like to check out websites before i go to sleep while laying down, i can listen to satalight radio to help me sleep, or my normal podcasts... without wasteing my iPhones batt for the morning. The iPod Classic is my music player again, for long rides, but its been brought more into the front now, since i want to use the phone for the abilitys the iPods do not have.

wow i ranted.

I use the shuffle at the gym...iPhone everywhere else.

Exactly. Shuffle is a godsend at the gym... I put it in my pocket and you can't even tell it's there. Then I'll use the iPod part of my iPhone in the car/walking to class/trips/etc.

Yeah but I hate my 4g ipod mono.

Plus, it can't stream music, which is something I like to do, especially during cardio, di.fm ftw.

I still use my 160GB classic as my main iPod. It houses my entire music collection and I use it at home and at work. At home I use it docked to the Hi-Fi and at work with external speakers. At work it will be playing for 9 hours a day and I don't want to have to disconnect it every time I leave my office to go into the workshop.

The iPhone is loaded with a load of my favourite tracks and I use it as an iPod when I'm out walking, on the train or sitting in the garden. I sometimes use it in the car with a Belkin FM transmitter, but usually use my old 60GB photo with iTrip.

The iPhone works as a really nice iPod, but doesn't have enough disc capacity to be my main device.

Wow! Great feedback. What I find most interesting is the number of people using a Shuffle. I like control over my playlists, so have always used nanos. I skipped the latest rounds of nanos because I don't like that square look and my current nanos work just fine. I bought Shuffles for my kids, but never used it myself because I never know what mood I'll be in until I get there - Hard Rock, Techno, Classic Rock.....

I guess its the warranty I have that keeps me using the Touch, although I'd love to have my phone with me too - except for years I've made fun of people who texted and talked on the phone while working out.

So, I think I'll stick with the Touch for now and avoid the distraction of text messages and phone calls.

I was planning on using my iphone to play my recorded stern/this american life shows instead of the 1st gen nano i've been using, but in practice i find it easier to stick with the small nano in the pocket, especially because i can reach in and pause/adjust volume by touch while riding the subway.

So now i carry my 160g classic for my entire music library and some movies, 4g 1st gen nano for talk radio, and 16g iphone 3G for tv episodes with me to work and most other places...

I'm not known for efficiency.

i find it amuseing the uses we all have for our iPods. I thought i was one of the few that had a specific way of handling the way i listen to music, and on which device!

Im like a mad scientist over here. My iPod Classic is plugged into the desktop computer, iPod touch is plugged into my Macbook, and the iPhone is plugged into the wall. all sitting infront of me! its crazy. I love it!

I think i need to restore my iPod Classic though. Its being funky. if it sits for a day or two, I press the "play/on" button, it does nothing, i have to press play and hold menu just once, it shows the Apple logo, then it goes right into my song list. Its not a hard-reset either, its really quick.

yep use it all the time since the 1st gen. mostly use the ipod feature at the gym but occasionally at work too or while i'm driving if i can't find anything good on the radio.

No. I now use my 1st gen. iPhone as my mp3/media player.. and have since passed my nano to my Fiance since she misplaced her nano..

I never used the 1st gen. phone as a mp3 player either, always used my nano..
