Last time I used an iPhone in the rain it like temporarily shorted out the headphone jack and it wouldn't play any sounds thru the speaker until it dried out. So YMMV.

No. Why risk it.

I did when I had the Samsung Galaxy S5. LOL I remember getting strange looks. OP didn't ask but I also used it in the shower. :)

The Lifeproof case barely adds size and it weighs nothing. I'm not sure if you've actually owned one or not because it sounds like you haven't. I've had a Lifeproof case for my last two phones and the abuse the last one took was beyond what most people's cases will ever see.
While I truly value your opinion, I also do tech product testing as part of my job. This is the case I tested: http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/us_en/iphone-6-cases/iphone-6-case-nuud/?color=Black+/+Black+/+Smoke

Compare that case to the HZO process and there is a fairly significant difference there. My current case is by Apple: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MGQF2ZM/A/iphone-6-silicone-case-black

Again, significantly less heft.

I should not have used the words crappy behemoth in describing the lifeproof cases. I understand some people really like them. I prefer something a little more nano sized for protection.

Well, sometimes, if I really want to continue what I was doing on my phone. It also depends on what you mean by "light rain." If a few drops end up on my phone here and there, I am completely fine using it. If the drops keep coming enough to interfere with my view on the screen, then I just don't bother.

First off thanks for a real response instead of a snarky reply which is all to common on forums these days. In fact, in hind sight my reply to you was a bit harsh sounding. Not my intention.

I see your points and don't disagree. Personally I find the Lifeproof the best of the "complete coverage" cases that I've tried. That combined with the minimal bulk (which is rare in these type cases) is perfect for my lifestyle. $90+ is a bit on the ridiculous side but I haven't found anything that combines minimal size and complete protection that's cheaper....unfortunately. I tried the otter box and Pelican and they were monstrous for iPhone 6. Insanely huge. I'd love to do a nano coating and leave it be but I need serious blunt force trauma protection as well. And I mean SERIOUSLY protection. I think where these type of cases shine is for people who want to keep their phones in pristine condition for resale since many people buy every new phone that comes out.
