Seems to me this argument is about your inability to read and you assuming that because I said a box of CDs is bugger that optical media is dead.

Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension instead of trying to tell me what my beliefs are.

Just watch, this is exactly where this thread is headed. Im done arguing with a rock. Good day.

Which is it again?

My original argument was that I personally think it's stupid to say you need a cd as a physical backup when there are other ways to backup your media. If you want CDs for other reasOns that's fine, but to say you won't download music online because you want a physical backup is a dumb argument. You can always backup to an external source, including CDs, which I have even said.

Sure you can pick and chose phrases out of my quotes to make it look like I said you are dumb if you buy CDs but I never in fact said that.

As for arguing with a rock, LOL if you knew how to read I never even wanted to argue with you, but you insisted that you were a mind reader and knew what my opinions were. Sucks when you realize you're wrong and don't have a leg to stand on huh?

I use it on occasion. I used to burn a lot of cds. I actually just ended up watching a movie using it because I tried to rip the disk (for a movie I owned) and the file got currupted somehow so I ended up just watching the film the old-fashioned way:eek:

I do like having an optical drive in my current computer but I wouldn't mind if they took it out in the future especially in the 13inch MBP if they were going to give that computer better specs.

I do think that at least initially there should remain one 15inch model at least that retains the optical drive. Not because I would want it but because when I talk to my parents and grandparents it is very clear that even though I am over optical media the generation above me is definitely not. This includes those who are fairly computer literate like my father. He works with computers a lot and he would never buy a $2000+ laptop without an optical drive.

as long as optical media remain the most inexpensive form of storage, I think there is a place for the optical drive in the "professional" line of apple laptops...
