Here's a pic of the Android keyboard in one of the Bad Apps Watch Faces. Surprisingly, it is usable on the Moto 360.
It's not that surprising. The Moto 360 is a pancake! I don't hate the Moto but it's not even an option for me at that size.

Yes. Really miss it. It's like I can see notifications, but I need to take my phone out to respond on them.

There are plenty of innovative ideas to bring typing to small screens with limited controls. Not full qwerty keyboards.

I NEVER type in the password on the watch cuz I think that's insanely stupid. No way in hell I would ever want a keyboard.

At the very least I'd love to be able to erase the question mark or type in a preset "Talk to you later" that is a statement and not a question that almost sounds like begging in some contexts.

LOL... yeah, some of their default canned responses are a bit annoying. I was replying to a message earlier today and I just wanted to say 'thanks', but the only canned response option I had was 'thanks!' which conveyed a little more excitement than was appropriate for the conversation. In the end I just dictated a 'thanks' instead.

You can edit them to your liking on the phone (in the watch app), and they'll port over to the watch.

No, seriously Siri is so good for most things and if not dig into the pocket for the iPhone. It may be just me but Siri is amazingly accurate on the watch and I'mm sure they did something recently because the phone is too.

Hoping they solved the Scots accent problems though :)

Yes but sometime I just want to say, "sure" or "30 minutes".... And its not in my pre-canned replies or smart replies... I don't think a keyboard would work, but I definitely dont like pulling out the phone for that when I am half way there on the watch already. For longer replies, obviously not meant to do through the watch

Can you not make your own replies or shortcut just like on iPhone?

You can add your own custom replies in the Watch app on your phone.

There's no need for a keyboard; however, I wish there was a way to edit individual words. Siri is impressive, but there are things she can't get right. I wish we could choose a word to edit then spell out the word for siri.

Possible workflow:

- Dictate to siri
- Force touch to enter "edit mode"
- Each word blinks or wiggles (like home screen)
- use digital crown to select a different word.
- Force touch again to have options to try dictation again or spell word out.

Hope Apple comes up with something like this!

Absolutely Not!

Apple Watch is NOT an iPhone and I hope it never tries to be ;)

Another possible solution could be drawing letters with your finger on the screen - not the whole words, just single letters. And then, using prediction selecting most suitable ones.

With your phone in your pocket there is no reason for a keyboard. When driving or other things the dictation works just fine.... It wasn't designed to be a full phone replacement.

No

No.

Didn't you watch the keynote last September? Tim Cook said this:

"What we didn’t do was take the iPhone and shrink the user interface and strap it on your wrist. The display is too small and it would be a terrible customer experience. For example, if you take a gesture like pinch to zoom, it covers the content, it obstructs your view. It just doesn’t work."

It's the perfect example of why we don't want a keyboard on a watch. :)

This could work:

Huh i like that approach... It would suck for a long entries, but as we've all agreed we just need a shortcut for quick little things. This would definitely do it.

Most often I find the situation is inappropriate to use Siri - yet I would like to send a quick reply - do we think apple will introduce a keyboard? I know the screen is tiny but they have one on the Microsoft band which works pretty well.

No. I turned off pass code after only a few times. My hands are large. Could not imagine a keyboard I could use. Messages does some pretty good analysis to offer logical canned answers already. Or I dictate to Siri. F--- what others think of it. It's going to be the new norm to talk to your devices more than to type on them.

You can? Thanks! Talk to you later? ;)

Really, I didn't know that. Thank you. I'm going to fix those.

There is no way the watch needs a keyboard. It would over complicate what is intended to be a simple device.
That said, I've found Siri to be incredibly accurate for any text I've wanted to input on the watch, much more elegant solution.

Even if you turn passcode on you never have to actually enter the passcode on the watch. If the watch is locked when you put it on your wrist all you need to do is unlock your phone and the watch will unlock too. I’ve had the passcode enabled since day one, but I’ve never actually had to enter it on the watch.

Bingo. I don't type it in either.

No.

If you want games or Facebook or a keyboard on your Watch, you're using it wrong.

It's meant for quick glances and notifications...not to be interacted with for minutes at a time.

A keyboard would be useless for most people, but a number pad for use during phone calls would be great (for IVR lines).
