Anyone else having issues with the dock randomly disappearing on 26.0? It comes back briefly if placing the cursor at the edge of the screen but then goes away again when moving the cursor away. Terminal command killall Dock or a reboot fixes it (until the next time it happens). M2 Max MBP 16".

Sounds like you’ve got auto-hide your dock enabled.

I should have specified that I do not have auto-hide enabled. Thanks for the suggestion. It happens a couple of times a day. Seems like a bug.

Happening for me too. Each time it does, I show the dock, right-click on the separator and then click "Turn Hiding Off".

From another thread:

Yep, I have a disappearing dock also. It appeared in early betas, I believe, and is still present. I have screen saver enabled in the menu bar, and when it disappears, I click there and move the mouse, and Voilà, the dock returns.

I’ll try that next time. Just an annoyance at this point.

If "Turn Hiding Off" is shown rather than "Turn Hiding On", that would seem to confirm that hiding was indeed enabled – so the question becomes how and when it's being enabled.

We know the key command to toggle this setting is command-option-D, so the first thing I would do is check my memory for anything I might have done to inadvertently toggle it myself. Aside from that, I suppose the system or some other event is somehow toggling or resetting it. (I'm not completely sure since I always keep it on, but I think the default for hiding is off, which seems to suggest it isn't being reset.)

Please let us know if you get to the bottom of this!

when the dock randomly disappeared on me, I checked system settings > dock and auto hide was NOT on. toggling it on and off brought back the dock.

Hoping a fix was included in the 26.0.1 update.
Hasn't been fixed in the 26.1 beta Scratch Head.gif

Happening to me also, more frequently when recovering the monitors from sleep. I updated today to 26.0.1 and until now it has not happened again.
