Wait... Are you telling me that some of you actually thought to yourselves "gee, this phone would be great if it was only a little taller"?
Sorry, I'm not buying it.

I don't really have a need for a larger phone but am going to buy the next iPhone either way. More screen space would be nice but there is a point where the phone becomes too big. Some of the newer android phones are just way too big to be practical in my opinion, so I'll be sticking with the iPhone
Im not trying to argue, but why do you say "most people agree" regarding Apple's choice to not give bigger screens? Based on this informal poll (more than half want a bigger iPhone still) then Ive always felt we are just accepting what Apple offers simply because we prefer the OS and are willing to compromise screen size in order to use it.What you think is "outdated" i think is solid and consistent. That's what I want from my phone. Most people agree. This is the path Apple is pursuing. That works for me. Not because I am an iSheep, but because it fits my lifestyle and workflow. I appreciate solid performance and the app echosystem more than widgets and a stupid notification light.
I have big hands, and like phones with big screens, but I've honestly never been bothered with the size of the iPhone screen. However, 4 inches, wider and longer, would have been ideal.
And it just feels like a giant misstep. Change the design, and keep the screen the same and people would have been ok. But keep the design the same, and only make it taller? It sounds, really, really silly.
It almost looks like they didn't know what direction to go so the settled on the same design and just elongated it.
Apple guru's are alot like Cubs fans. They keep filling the seats and partying it up regardless of the product that's out there. If the White Sox put crap on the field, they stop buying tickets. 80% of fans in the seats at Wrigley don't know what the hell is going on or who 3/4's of the team is.
Unlike you, I've never looked at my iPhones and thought wow, this screen is small. So anything bigger is a bonus for me.
Sure, there are people who have difficulty seeing, but they really need to get their eyes checked.
Are you happy with a 19" television?
