I like it! There are plenty of little things that I’m enjoying. My friend and I have seen a big boost in FaceTime audio call reliability over iOS 15. I think Apple fixes plenty of issues that aren’t mentioned in release notes. My favorite is setting up a shuffle of photos for the Lock Screen. It’s been fun to set up and to see a variety of pictures.

Only downside for me was that some apps that connected to the network were sluggish. This seems to be completely fixed in 16.0.2

It's fine. I'm using it exactly the same as iOS 15 so no difference for me.

I don't care about the lock screen stuff at all.

I like it well enough. I could do without the lock screen customization and widgets as I don't really care either way about them, but they're fun to play with and add a new feature that's at least somewhat (albeit not very) useful. The rest of it works just like iOS 15 did for me, for the things I do on my phone. Battery life seems fine and I'm not experiencing any glitches with it.

I am thinking of updating to IOS 16, but I have been looking through this forum, and see a lot of "this doesn't work", "that is missing", "battery drain", and similar posts. These posts make me wonder if I should just stick with IOS 15.

Those for whom IOS works well... are they a silent majority, or a minority? Can anyone post good experiences with IOS 16?
Had to upgrade my 11 cause I bought an Apple Watch SE2. Almost cancelled my order. 16 Is not doing anything more that is so fantastic than 15. If I wanted so desperately to customize my home screen, I ‘d buy a an Android. Battery life has taken a small hit also. I’m so fed up of being caught in this endless loop of updating-upgrading and seeing things got worst. For the first time, I’m a bit tired of the Apple lock on me.

I haven't noticed much of a difference either way until today when I woke up to SOS only where my network connection should be - so right now it is is annoying me a lot

To add, since de selecting preserve last photo formats...
I'm since taking actual 48mp photo's.
Delighted with ios16 📸

This 48MP thing is ironic. Remember the "pixel wars" from 15 years ago? Phone manufacturers were putting higher and higher resolution cameras in the phones, and I think they were up to 48MP back then. Apple sat that out and said all the resolution doesn't make a difference, but try our 8MP camera with 40 percent larger pixels, or something like that. Now they're selling a 48MP camera.

To answer the OP, my wife surprised me by upgrading her phone without telling me, at least until she decided that she didn't like her lock screen, and then I got to hear about it. Now I get to fix it. I can't even get the thing into customize mode.

I like iOS 16 and most of the changes, such as lock screen widgets, duplicate photos detection, etc. The big exception is the change to notifications, which is a big step back.

On the other hand, the change has led me to stop checking notifications altogether except for those that pop up on the lock screen. I have ignored/missed everything that I have set to "deliver quietly" for weeks now. So is that a win? You decide.

Otherwise I have had none of the bugs reported by others and no battery drain.

This whole update is making me feel old. There's so much stuff in there that people evidently use daily that I have no need for. I'm pretty sure they'll eventually include an app that plays "you kids get off my lawn!" over all nearby iPhones.

It's still supersampling them down to 12MP for most people though.

Very ironic indeed, though enjoyable.
It's often been said that Pixel count isn't the most important quality factor.
Though i'm delighted to visually witness 48 Mp Raw and Pro Res Icon's.
I-Phone 14 now feels an investment.

thanks
