Since I am very new to the whole 'forum' thing, I may be asking a question that has been asked several times.

Does anyone know if anyone at Apple actually reads forums and online groups such as these?!

I think that they should, because there are so many great idea's that are posted on here, that make sense in my mind. Also, there are many questions and concerns that are posted here as well - so I would think it would be benefical if Apple read some (not all) Online forum groups...

But back to my question, does anyone know if they do?

Thanks for taking the time to read my question. Comments welcomed.

I don't have a concrete answer with proof, but I have a very strong feeling that they do visit.

Apple workers read this site, as there are a lot of them, but as for people who are involved with the actual development process internally at Apple, I have no idea. I know they read the apple discussion forums, but that's a no brainer.

Where do you think that they get all their ideas from?:D

I do think that there are some Apple people who are sort of in the whole "rumors community" just to see what people are saying and throw us all off track.

It'd be nice if they did...

As I mentioned in a previous post - I've been using a computer since 1996, and I've done many things online and such (I wont list em off, too many) - but I've never joined a forum, so I thought I would. I personally think it's great, not sure why I waited so long - but even so, Im a guy with many thoughts and many opinions..

    I hope that's welcomed here.. :)

Steve Jobs probably breezes through this forum once in a while to get a kick out of all the 'fan boy' feedback and read about their wishes, hopes for future devices ....

No doubt he couch surfs with his MacBook Air ... or wild prototype ... or some yet to come cool monitor ....

I doubt it. I honestly don't believe Apple is paying anyone to specifically read forums, aside from the actual Apple forum. To my knowledge they don't even use focus groups and I'm guessing they are smart enough to know that people posting on Tech blogs are in fact a very small percentage of their target market. Complaining or praising.

Also give the fact most of the the tech blogs (Apple specific ones) haven't been that popular until the past few years (iPhone, Applestores etc..). I find it funny that a 30 or 40 billion (at the time) company would all the sudden feel the need to read what some nameless individual thinks.

This is honestly what makes all the rants so funny to read. It's basically a form of entertainment and a place to read about rumors and debate topics we find interesting. Nothing more.

I was just curious - that's all... :) But I do enjoy this forum. I like reading what people have to say, weither its good or bad because it reflects what 'some' people think about their products and such. Mind you, some people's opinions are far fetched and outta this world, while others are insanely interesting and fiesible.

    :)

I read ALOT of the threads, but I don't reply to every msg.. I reply to ones I find interesting... Thats no big surprise.. but Im just saying.. :)

Apple is a large company and I would be surprised if none of their employees ever visited this or other Apple related websites.

They have to. Otherwise, how can we explain all the prototype iPhone identifiers appearing in the MacRumors web logs? Apple obviously looks at sites like these for leaks or small feedback. Obviously they won't respond.

Ditto for me, I enjoy reading some opinions on various topics.

Unfortunately there are some serious lunatics here that find the need to post in every post and always to try have something witty to say. I guess every forum has to have it's trolls lol. *see above*

Sure they do. But there are other forums with more mature posters that they visit more because of the better quality/post ratio, such the appleinsider forums.
