I certainly didn't. I just bought an iPad 3 :p

Yeah. But that's $100 of free crap.

Anyways, I do pay the full price because I simply don't have the patience to wait for one day out of 365.

Well, at least a Target gift card can be pretty practical for many, there's a lot of household stuff that you can buy that you really would have bought anyway.

I think it is crazy to pay full retail for the Ipad. I just do not see how they justify $600 for a 32 gb Ipad Air. ..

Millions paid full price. And a very large number did 64 and 128 - often at full price.

Have you watch the insanity on this board when they first come up for sale - with ZERO discounts?

I paid retail price for my 128gb wifi ipad air. In Canada, that's 820 $ before taxes (or about 945 $ inc. taxes). I think it's worthed every penny! My air doesn't have any quality control issue (at least to me). That said, I believe the ipad air is priced fairly.

yeah but it didn't make his iPad any cheaper. so now it's pay iPad full price and spend $100 of stuff you don't need.

We've been through this discussion about the $100 target gift card. For 95% of the population it's essentially as good as cash

Everyone needs groceries basic living stuff even toilet paper. Sure you can save a little at Walmart but some people will avoid Walmart.

And the beauty of it is that it doesn't cost them $100 to give you $100 gift card. Theres about $50 in profit in there they will make when you buy your $100 worth of stuff. Brilliant!

We shop at target all the time, but point is still paid full retail for the iPad. Saying you saved $137 or whatever op said isn't accurate.

Exactly and people act like they saved insane amount of money only to go back into target and spend $100 gift card and then some

I do. Why, because when I need or what a ipad I get it. $100 isn't that much. Made that in a fix amount of time and another $100 will be coming after the next fixed about of time.

Not that big of a deal.

True. And, there's a high probability you gonna spend even more than what's your 100 $ gift card is worthed whenever you redeem it. So, in the end, they might earn back those 50 $ they've initially lost from the gift card. But heck, be smarter than them: don't be in a rush to use it and just buy whatever you need, in time.

Best Buy had $60 off the sales price (not gift cards) for all Airs Black Friday weekend + I paired it with AMEX deals for $25 off each $250 you spend at Best Buy (split purchase between enrolled 2 cards) I saved $110 + $15 in best buy reward certs and only 3.5% sales tax. :p

Staples also had some good deals on Airs too Black Friday but too lazy to type :p

I agree. That's no rule saying one has to use up the full amount of the gift card in a single transaction. There is also no rule saying forcing anyone to buy useless junk using the gift card.

Although items for sale at Walmart are generally a little bit cheaper than at Target, there are still items that can be found for a lower price at Target when compared with Walmart. Furthermore, I would think that if one is smart enough to find this "worthless" free gift card deal when purchasing an iPad during Black Friday sales, then one should be smart enough to only buy needed stuff that are cheaper at Target.

I wouldn't disagree that this gift card deal is not a direct discount, but some of comments I read & interpret to be just saying that the free gift card is simply useless & worth nothing. Maybe I'm just hopelessly ignorant & extremely stupid because I simply don't understand how a free gift card cannot even be considered a "discount".

Remember iPad was supposed to cost $999 for the base model at launch. But Apple remarkably got the price down to what they remain today. Retail price is more than reasonable considering you're getting the best of breed tablet computing device. There's nothing better on the market than iPad.

Not happy I didn't wait a few weeks to get the Target et al other discounts, but that's the price you pay to get things right away.. So yes I paid full price for my 64gb. Still a great device in need of only an ios7 update to fix Crashing issues.

I bought my 64GB iPad Air the day before thanksgiving and don't regret it at all. I paid $764 and immediately began enjoying my device.

was able to get the first gen. iPad mini 32 GB for $251.69 + tax. BRAND NEW!!! they had a $100 off because it was on clearance and also if you use your store credit card you get 15% off plus and additional 10% for the employee discount. also i signed up for their reward program and got an additional $22 in in-store credit. yeah it's not retina but it's a super great deal!!!
