Those commands are for Terminal. You can open FAHlog.txt directly in TextEdit and read the whole thing, or use those commands from Terminal to read just that particular line.
So, you have options.
bous-
You did fine. Just had to clarify for the less Terminal savvy.![]()
wdlove said:I'm sorry Rower_CPU, but you have me lost. I thought that TextEdit was just for messages. I have no idea how to open Fahlog.txt. I don't think that I stupid, but just not a power user in any way. If you can remember it took MrMacman awhile to get my folding working in the first place.![]()

Rower_CPU said:OK, here's the breakdown: FAHlog.txt is just a simple text file, readable by any program that works with text. You could open in in Word, TextEdit, etc.
Terminal-
Typing in the commands listed will show you the contents of just that line in the fie.
TextEdit-
Using File>Open you can browse to FAHlog.txt and open it to view the contents of the entire file.
So, you have 2 completely distinct options - the commands for Terminal have nothing to do with TextEdit. Is that clearer?

Rower_CPU said:Open TextEdit and then go to File>Open and navigate to the folder where Folding@Home is installed and then open FAHlog.txt and look at its contents. All we're concerned about is the top 12 lines or so, which should look like this:
Code:# Mac OS X Edition ################################# Let us know what the contents of the Arguments section are. :)[/QUOTE] OK, so I opened TextEdit and went to File>open. Now how do I find the folder where Folding@Home is installed?

Sparky's said:It started at 12:33 and it's now 5:10 from what I see 0 out of 400 frames are completed. or does the "frames (5)" actually mean there are 5 finished?![]()

It would be nice if folders would label their topics as such to avoid wasting the time of others with vague (and sometimes misguiding when understood out of context) topic titles. Sometimes it will take several posts to even figure out that the topic is folding.
Thanks, for all the non-folders.
