Love FedEx; hate UPS.

It's not uncommon for packages to take longer with standard UPS than with standard FedEx, and even still, I frequently see hold-ups and pushed back delivery dates with UPS. They always deliver late in the afternoon or evening and usually throw the package at the garage door (seeing cars there & knowing someone's home) and run ... like they're afraid to ring the doorbell. What's more, about half of the time the package will show "on vehicle for delivery" and I'll wait for it all day, only to see that between 6 and 7, the status is changed to something like "customer not home" or "business closed." I'm not a business and I most certainly WAS home. I've even watched the truck drive by my house and seen the false message appear minutes later. I think they're just too lazy to stop / finish their route and are ready to go home. Whenever I have the option, I'll choose anything over UPS.

FedEx on the other hand, is excellent. Delivery dates are very reasonable and even surprising sometimes. I can think of only one delivery date that was delayed, and most come early. My packages don't sit on the truck for two days before they get around to delivering it, and the driver is always very polite. The FedEx driver actually rings the bell and waits for me to answer. They also deliver at very reasonable times during the day ... anywhere between 10 and 3 usually; not after 6 like UPS normally is.

As I side note ... to show my appreciation to my FedEx guy, I gave him cookies on iPhone 4 day. :) I figured he'd feel better/safer eating something pre-packaged from the store instead of something homemade (I don't know him THAT well and I wouldn't trust most people's kitchens to be clean, so I certainly don't expect anyone to trust mine without seeing it!). I decided on Oreos because I figured everyone likes Oreos and they shouldn't melt while sitting in a hot truck all day ... or at least not as bad as something with chocolate chips would.

Normally I would say "yes, I love Fedex" but after last week, I'm a little annoyed. I was on vacation with my family and both my bumper and my wife's Iphone 4 shipped, with the bumper to arrive on Wednesday and the Iphone to arrive Thursday. Got an exception notice, as expected, and had my parents fill out the door hanger to hold it at the facility for pick up. Thursday I got . . . nothing. At 7pm, I check the status only to find that not only had Fedex been to our house, they had left it and claimed it had been signed for - and it hadn't been signed for! I immediately called my parents and they drove by, luckily it was still tucked away by the door a full 5 hours after it had been left there (in 112 degree heat, also,) but what's the deal here? The $30 bumper can't be left but the $700 Iphone can? Insane.

As far as I'm concerned Fed Ex is the most horrible shipper out there. My iPhone 4 they shipped it to New York instead if Texas... And yes the address was correct.

Was supposed to get it in the 23rd instead got it on the 25... They figured out what they did after me being in the phone with them for 3-4 hours and said oh we will overnight it to you so you still get it on launch day...

Instead they sent it two day supposably someone missed the note saying to have it ivernighted from NY.... Finally did get it in the 25th although I was gairenteed to have it by noon well noon came I called they said well maybe by 2 pm so I got pissed and they rerouted there driver to me had it at like 1pm.... I would personally rather use the pony express atleast the probably know the difference between Texas and New York

My new desktop has been sitting at their destination sorting facility not 10 miles from my house since 4am this morning. So today, no, I do not love fedex. Tomorrow..maybe

I have NEVER had a problem with them. They're always early or at the very latest, on time for me. And the drivers are always nice. UPS drivers always seemed rushed, to me.

FedEx never hands me anything. They just ring the doorbell and go back to their truck . By the time i answer the door, they are driving off. They dont seem any better than UPS to me as far as being in a hurry. UPS is fast imo , but they are damn expensive.

Usually they ring the doorbell, but not today.

Ordered my iPhone 4 and bumpers, and both of course came FEDEX. Both promptly delivered.

At the same time I shipped an expensive flashlight back to the manufacturer for repairs. It went and came by UPS, they just dropped it on my doorstep and drove off. The tracking papers said I signed for it. I wasn't even home, no one signed for it. Since I don't use the front door I didn't even know it had been delivered except I got an e-mail from the manufacturer telling me it had been delivered, I checked the tracking receipt and went and looked and there it was on the doorstep. Very poor security. I sent an e-mail back to the manufacturer telling them about what UPS had done. They said they would check into it. Especially that the driver obviously lied about it being signed for.
