When your battery gets low enough that it shuts down on it's own it often wont boot up, even while charging. It simply doesn't have enough power stored in the battery to complete the boot cycle. Let it charge for 1/2 an hour (it will keep trying to boot) and eventually it will get charged enough to start up.

well, something wierd just happened, I stuck it on the wall charger instead of on the computer, and it booted up, but it was on the screen saying I needed to connect to itunes to activate, and the odd thing was the battery indicator said it was completely charged but the second I take it off the charger it shuts down. I've tried leaving it on the charger, but i guess since its says its at 100% its not charging. I think the battery may have shorted or something.

I have to admit I'm starting to take all this stuff personally lol. First there were the numerous hardware/software problems and now the phone i've been waiting for a month to buy (white iP4) has been delayed indefinitely. I highly doubt it will happen but I kinda hope the iP4 is a dud overall. That's not to say that I might not break down and get one eventually, but as of now the iPhone has left a bad taste in my mouth and I would like to see Apple suffer a little for such poor testing control and the many false promises regarding shipping dates. Maybe i'll just buy a used 3GS to tide me over until iP5.

Don't get me wrong, I love Apple and love ALMOST all their products, I just think they got a little full of themselves with this release. If you can't get the basics done right, don't try to wow the crowd with stupid retina displays and gyroscopes. Here's to hoping the iP5 is an absolute blockbuster. Back to the drawing board Apple.

So anyway, cool story bro, but does anyone else secretly want Apple to suffer for their numerous mistakes this release?

Are you serious?

What a miserable life you must lead.

Yes. And I also sit in bed at night and hope the economy crashes just for fun. Oh, and maybe a meteor will CRASH through my window, like in Transformers, and put my out of my misery for my last 2 minutes of thought process.

yes, i hope it's gonna be a flop, so i'm gonna be really special!

i always brag with my first-batch of german 'Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones' DVD that has 3 Typos on the box. (... one of them's 'Joda' ...)

but in all honesty: ... no

also, like others have pointed out ... it already went beyond the 'possible flop' barrier on release day

+30000

No. Besides owning one and LOVING it, I also own stock and would prefer it to, you know, succeed admirably.

As much as I've like certain features of the iPhone, I'm just getting the point of having a VERY difficult time in justifying a $220+ monthly installment to ATT for a sup-par service. Heck, I cant even use the thing as a phone without driving 9 miles from my house without the MicroCell, and I'm in Scottsdale, AZ. Pa-f'n-thetic.

Holy crap. Does everyone with an iPhone pony up $220 per month to ATT?

I turned on my 3GS for the first time since I got i4 and laughed at how bad the screen is on the 3GS. Just the retina display alone is worth the upgrade.

Yeah...I occasionally pick up my old 3G that I gave my wife to tease her.

I tell her, not to worry you'll have the iP4 this time next year...when I get the iP5.:D

When I pulled out my i4 at work, several 3G and 3GS users (who were not yet sure about upgrading) logged in to Apple.com and put in orders. :)

That's not what he was saying.

220 for the phone (includes tax), plus monthly plan...

And why wouldn't you?

The minute I saw the leaked photos and videos of the iP4 on Gizmodo, I tuned to my 3G and said; "You disgust me!" :D

AMEN.

I, in fact, hedged my bets on 6/15, and when...early...I couldn't get in on Apple.com, I ran down to my local Best Buy where I was 3rd for an iPhone pre-reserve.

I returned home...tried Apple.com again...and got through. Got the phone the morning of 6/23 and couldn't be happier!

Hehe.

I was up at 4am on launch day ready to be on the road at 5am got to the Belfast store at 7:30am. :D

I agree!

The iPhone 4 is tainted. Just because they're in high demand only proves the exceptional influence of Steve Jobs. That's a fact.

The amount of time that passes between now and the introduction of it's replacement is time wasted. It's a gift to the competition.

Jobs has created the very thing he fears most... Time for the Android Army to gain traction, market share, and become the smartphone of choice.

Noooooo!!

I certainly don't. I don't want to feel like the fool that spent £500 on a broken phone.

However, my iP4 has never given me a problem. Better signal than my 3G anyway. Maybe I'm in a lucky signal area lol.

Same here. No "quality control" problems here. No reception issues.

Love my i4.

The sure sign you've successfully disrupted the marketplace is when everyone starts gunning for you. Three years ago, Apple didn't have a single cell phone in the market. Now look at their market position.

If I were an industry stakeholder, I'd be at Apples jugular, throwing rocks at their users as being "simple" and "dumb," willing to overpay for an overhyped product, etc....whatever dirty tricks I could muster to try and hang onto my own lemmings while trying to lure iPhone users back to my camp after their initial defection. It's a fight for survival and so wanting the iP4 to be a flop is just part of the attack.

Oh and most non-owners are jealous. :D

Anyone that thinks this is a bash Apple thread is confused. All I asked is if people harbored resentment because of Apple's mistakes.

The 4 didn't work for me so I returned it and I even got up early on launch day for it. If I were waiting for the white I would be disappointed, but I'm not going to get mad at Apple because I'm not a child.

well, I guess my phone heard me because I was on a call and it just died. I thought it was the battery but when I plug it into my charger the apple logo appears for like 5 secs then shuts of again for about 10 secs. then back to the apple logo. Looks like going to the genious bar tommorrow

Karma... ;)

@ OP. No, I don't. But I do secretly want for the media and complainers to move on to something else and grow up.
