mid-2012 model received in August 2012 with a Samsung display. No problem with the coating coming off yet.

Nothing here on a 2012 MBP 13" retina with a 10/02 manufacture. In my opinion, based on this sample of one, the best display I've owned. The colors are gorgeous, it's bright and "rugged".

When the screen gets dirty enough I wet a terry towel that I use on my cars (washed, of course) with whatever cleaner my wife has under the sink. Usually Simple Green or that organic Arm & Hammer stuff. There is not one single mark on the screen. I don't do it often though, maybe twice a month.

I know what the OP is talking about. At least I've seen them in pictures. As pointed out it's most likely the AR coating. Maybe some batches had the coating incorrectly applied.

Taken right now:

Thanks for all the replies and votes. I'm gonna be purchasing a 2015 13" MBP for my sister tomorrow.

October of last year and mine is still good.

I usually just lick my finger to wet the spot and then wipe with the apple clothe. If my nasty mouth isn't enough to wear the screen, I think I'm good.

LOL! Thanks for posting this. That's exactly what I do. Spit works wonders on all my screens...
