Did anyone on here buy one of these?

Yep. And quite pleased with it to for an additional audio source just for the kitchen hooked up to an Airport Express. At the time, it was one of the best-sounding standalone boxes on the market, way superior to the Bose SoundDock and extremely solidly built. Other competitors have since entered the market with lower prices on similar products. It makes a regular appearance at the annual MacRumors London Picnic. :)

Bet Phil Schiller's got one. ;)

It makes no business sense to do such a thing - it would be entirely stupid from any professional viewpoint.

The OP's remarks are making the completely erroneous assumption that it was, by all counts, an 'awful keynote,' which is entirely up to personal interpretation and opinion.

I rather enjoyed it. Apple can't have an ILE (iPhone Level Event) every time. Phil did a good job. Steve has star power is all. Phil did good..

No. I think Phil was given an honor. And to be completely honest, two hours of Steve talking about a cell phone wasn't exactly all that memorable either. Apple will probably introduce products throughout the year with special events and at WWDC. Last year's Macworld wasn't all that exciting either.

The announcements were always going to slow down. What more is there that they can do to their computers beyond change what they look like which would be a substantial difference?

Look at the iMac - they changed that for the sake of change. Same with the new MacBooks - there just isn't the same pace of great new hardware to use on the inside which would make these into significant announcements.
