i'm willing to bet he's from france... those guys usually aren't really happy about english or to learn it as they think the french language is bigger than english so it's unnecessary to learn according to those frenchies i've spoken too.. pretty absurd if you ask me!

You are kidding, right?

you guy all wrong , china people buy iphone in usa only lock version such ass ATT, so when they bring to oversea they try to unlock software such as dev team or redsnow , so they can sale to who ever doesn't play iphone much , they say that is neverlock and that person just buy it but that was before now everybody know what is iphone

if they buy neverlock version in usa around 700-1000 dollar which is around the same price in oversea , people smart now everywhere , before they buy something first they go to mr.google.com search ....

Yes, exactly, I hope you can be the same too, I don't know, is it too much for you? Most profit taking sellers, or we call it scalpers (mainly in China) buy a factory unlocked of iPhone on Hongkong's Apple Store last week, since it was the nearest place where iPhone 4s OFFICIALLY released by Apple.

Their price: See here (in HK$ in case you DONT notice)

That's pretty much equal to $670 - $870 depends on capacity. And they brought it back to China mainland, sell it at US$1000 just for 16GB version, thus they take profit high, and sadly some Chinese people are still willing to buy it.

Buying ATT version of "never locked" iPhones is a stupid move, mostly only available in States, and maybe can get abroad by a few eBay deals, but just imagine how much the shipping cost is!! It's less profit for them compared to just buy factory unlocked iPhone from Hongkong's Apple Store.

And people in China can search how much an iPhone 4s normally cost, but it's not seems that each of them were able to get to HK, or even US anyway, huh? So they just give up and buy iPhone 4s at any rate offered by those scalpers.

Now you're the one who should research from your friend Mr. Google.

PS: You still haven't used google translate for every single of your posts, huh?

I'm just curious, but what happens when you insert a foreign SIM card in your locked, but off contract, iPhone? I have a 3GS laying around that I would like to use for my trip overseas, with a foreign SIM card.

Also, what would happen if I used a foreign micro SIM on my locked/on contract AT&T 4S?

You are kidding, right?

Absolutely not, last time i was in Paris i tried to ask people on the street for directions etc and i must say pretty much all of them treated me like an idiot for talking english to them and thought i was a dumbass that didn't know french. So if you're from france and you can speak english like any other, then don't feel offended, because i respect those who doesn't look at it that way.

It simply won't work.

You would need to unlock it via AT&T i guess (over here we unlock it at whatever carrier it was locked too after 1year, for a small sum of money, like 30bucks..) to make it work with any sim.
