I wonder who's fingerprints will lock the floor models in Apple retail stores.
I had one on a MicronPC laptop once. It was such a pain that I turned it off about 3 days later. Quite a novelty but not nearly as easy or quick as typing in a password and it would take 2-3 tries most of the time.
There's no way apple would use a fingerprint scanner if it wasn't quick and easy.
Yeah. No way Apple rolls out a half baked solution.

Absolutely agree, will wait for iPhone 6, maybe...Don't care personally. Honestly, nothing I'm hearing about the 5S is giving me any desire to upgrade from the 5.
Personally, a fingerprint reader is godsent for me IF it is implemented properly. Honestly, who doesn't want a phone that unlocks only to your touch and at the same time not wasting time with PINs. It'll be one of the main reasons I get a 5S.
If this is the real patent application, it refers to the sensor being placed in the bezel rather than the widely rumoured home button.
I'm hoping there's another patent / design for the latter, as having it in the button would be far more convenient than having to swipe the bezel.
